Ideal for our trip
Bought as part of a surprise trip to Dubrovnik and was used daily to determine what we wanted to see and to know a little about the areas and places we were visiting.

Super handy pocket guide
This guide is just the perfect size for a handbag/large pocket and includes loads of ideas if you're visiting Dubrovnik, Split or the surrounding area. It's got fold out maps inside each cover, as well as a removable/portable map. This small nap is great quality too, being a glossy, plastic coated paper - making it really hard wearing. There are lots of photos within, suggested itineraries and plenty of "Top 10" lists. This is where it comes into its own. Think of an interest and you can turn to a top 10 of whatever it is. Churches, beaches, free activities, stuff for the kids.....there's lots of inspiration. There's not loads of information in each - this guide is about the basics and the ideas. It's a great guide to help you plan your trip in advance or just to take out and about for inspiration.Very well thought out and pretty much everything I'd look for. I'm happy to recommend this book.

Attractive and user-friendly guide
Another little gem from the DK Eyewitness series - my newly-discovered favourite pocket guides. As usual, the guide is a great travelling companion - slim, pocket-sized and loaded with practical and useful content. As a Lonely Planet fan, I have only recently become acquainted with the DK Eyewitness Guides, and I do find them very user-friendly - delivering information in a concise, visual way, with lovely photos, maps and diagrams bringing the place to life. I particularly like the pull-out map in the back, that you can remove and use whilst you’re there.I haven't been to Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast before, but it looks a fascinating part of the world. After browsing this guide, it will now be added to my ever-expanding bucket list!

Great guidebook, must book trip :)
TLDR: Brief guides (but with detail) covering main attractions, beaches and trips, surrounding area and need to knows. Good photos and useful map. Everything needed as a get you in and perfect for those that will do more detailed research on the internet for hotels, restaurants etcFor those that don’t use these guides a quick explainer. These guides aren’t a full travel guide with detailed history of every attraction lists of hotels and restaurants that might be there when you visit. They also aren’t just 10 things eitherWhat you get is a slim but tall guide that hasTop 10 of main attractionsMain attractions range from single places (such as the Rectors palace, to areas such as the old walls or shopping district to destinations like the Island of Vis).Further top 10s covering things like Beaches, Restaurants, Churches, activities and activities for Kids)Suggested itineraries for shorter and longer visitsPracticalities such as transport, staying there, money, etc etcLots of picturesMaps (including one in a wallet you can take with you)These guides I think are the perfect short book for those who want to get a flavour of a place, plan some things to do but will dive into other online advice sights for restaurant suggestions, booking hotels etc. This guide to Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast like a lot of the eyewitness top 10 guides covers the sort of place you can get a budget airline to for a weekend break of a longer stay or base to explore further and are an easy read and digestible for those planning a trip and getting into the mood. They will also slip into a pocket or hand luggage if travelling light. In my first couple of flick thoughts I am already planning an excursion and at £6.29 these are great for whetting the appetite for your next adventureAs a Vine reviewer some of my reviews are based items I receive free requiring an honest review. I try to review based on the price point advertised (including vouchers or discounts where mentioned) and get things I might buy. My markings and reasoning below;★★★★★ | NO BRAINER - A top product. I really like it and it’s great value IMHO★★★★☆ | GREAT - decent product and good value for money. Very happy with this.★★★☆☆ | OK - Nothing wrong but I’d be looking for it on sale or get a better alternative★★☆☆☆ | Hmmm… - Not worth the price. Functional but mediocre★☆☆☆☆ | AVOID - Very Poor item not fit for purpose. Wouldn’t buy at any price. Landfill

Small and portable, relevant and researched.
This review is for the DK Eyewitness Top 10 Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast (Pocket Travel Guide) Paperback by DK Eyewitness. As you would expect from DK, this book is full of stunning photographs in a usable format. This time, it is in the form of a pocket guide and lists the top 10 of each Dubrovnik and Dalmatian Coast attraction category, from beaches to museums, for your convenience. The category listings tend to be on one or two pages so it can be referred to and a visiting decision made within minutes. The book is big enough to give detail but small enough to be portable and the inner of the book's covers are maps. There is also a pull-out separate map. DK advise this eyewitness format is compiled by experienced travellers, giving confidence that the listings will be accurate and worthwhile a visit. I believe this book is well worth the investment before your trip.
