VEDECASA - Skinny Console Table with Charging Station
We are fairly limited for space and storage in our house and i’d been looking for something that wasn’t too deep to fit along the wall next to our bed, so when i saw this skinny console table, it looked like it could be just what i was after. The table measures approximately 120cm wide x 80cm high and 15cm deep. The frame is made up of several square steel tubes that push together and are then secured in place using screws. The top face is made up from 3 pieces of veneered chipboard in quite a nice dark oak colour. One section of the top is fitted with a power outlet, made up of 2 x 240v 3 pin sockets and 2 x USB A ports. The outlet is fitted with a 2m long extension cord that you plug in to the mains to provide the power.***** In The Box *****1 x Table (various parts)1 x Instruction Sheet1 x Screwdriver1 x Allen Key1 x Pack Screws/fixings***** Conclusion *****Overall, i’m pretty happy with this little side table from VEDECASA.It is quite a nice size and the shallow depth means it doesn’t stand out from the wall too far, making it ideal for narrow spaces. I thought i might have needed to cut it down in length to fit next to the radiator in my bedroom, but it fitted nicely over the top and even the stabiliser bar at the back fitted neatly underneath it.Looks are always going to be subjective, but i think it looks pretty smart when put together. It’s not the greatest quality piece of furniture, but it seems reasonably sturdy.I put the whole thing together in about 15 to 20 minutes (using a cordless screwdriver), but you do get 2 tools in the pack, should you not have any.The included charging station is a nice feature, although the unit doesn’t have much weight to it, so i won’t be charging anything that requires a high load, but it is ideal for charging my smart watch and other small devices. The USB ports are only slow charging at 5v/2A (i’m not sure whether that is halved if 2 ports are used at the same time).I do feel the price is a bit excessive and somewhere around the £45 mark would be more reasonable, but it is a handy product for adding just a little extra storage to a space that would be otherwise wasted.

Slim sofa table - very handy
Really handy table for behind my sofa, use it loads for PS games controllers / phones / iPads. Worth the money but wouldn’t recommend it for freestanding, need to nail it to a wall or jam it in with a sofa!

Looks great but…
As good as this looks, it is - by its nature - very unstable. It comes with straps to stop it falling forwards but if you can’t place it flush against your wall (ie if you have a skirting board) you can’t stop it rocking backwards so easily. Essentially, if you can fashion a custom solution to hold it in place, it’s very nice. Ideally could have done with some suitable wall brackets rather than straps.

Awful quality waste of money
I had pretty low expectations with it being relatively cheap but it’s awful. The top bit is made of three sections of wood that do not hold together properly even when finished and tightened - so it moves apart in situ. The finish on the ‘wood’ is terrible and scuffed so you can see the joins. The whole thing is just horrible quality and cheap looking and flimsy (unless you’re jamming it behind a sofa as we are or attaching to a wall it is unusable).Positives 😅 - easy to construct and does a functional job with the charger.I would not recommend apart from as a temporary job-doer, it’s horrible!

Pretty Bad!
All the frame and the top are in multiple sections. The ‘wood’ top is in 3 sections, the legs are each in two sections and once put together it’s not very stable. The ‘wood’ is exceptionally cheap quality mdf and is over priced. That said the practical design of the table is good and suits our needs in the kids playroom. If it were for anywhere else in the house it would be sent straight back. Certainly not worth £70. Maybe half that is even a stretch.
