MEUS RACING TRX4M Dual-Speed Transmission, a must have upgrade!!!
The media could not be loaded. This dual-speed transmission has been an awesome upgrade, and I paired it with the MEUS Racing MB18 kit. Here’s my experience:Build QualityThe transmission is made of high quality aluminum alloy with an anodized surface and steel gears, making it durable and long-lasting. The gearbox has a beatiful finish and feels solid. The internal gear system is also impressive and built to perform.PerformanceThe gear ratios (15.7:1 for high speed, 56.6:1 for low speed) provide smooth and precise shifting, whether on 2S or 3S power. I’m using an EMAX servo to handle shifts via my transmitter, which is super convenient. While manual shifting is an option, I don’t find it as practical. The transmission handles different terrains effortlessly, operates silently, and is robust enough to endure heavy use without breaking.Compatibility with MEUS MB18 KitWhile the transmission fits well in the MB18 chassis, there are some design limitations to consider:The servo horn for gear shifting extends into the space where the battery tray suppose to be. I resolved this by relocating the battery to the right side of the cage, which works well. The dual-speed transmission is taller than the standard option, raising the motor position. This creates a clearance issue with the MB18's upper bracer, meaning you’ll need to use a smaller motor than the stock one. I used the Hobbywing QuicRun Mini 24, which fits perfectly.Additionally, the MB18 cabin can’t be installed due to the hight of the transmission, this will not affet the perfomance of the MB18.Final ThoughtsThis transmission is a game changer and incredibly fun to use. The metal gears make it far more durable than the OEM option, which costs $10 more but doesn’t include metal gears. I love the smooth operation and the ability to shift on the fly.The only downside is the lack of a detailed instruction manual for installation. However, with some problem-solving, it’s easy to make everything work.Verdict:If you’re using this in a TRX4M chassis, it’s a perfect fit. For the MEUS MB18, just be mindful of the battery and cabin clearance issues. Once you address these, the transmission performs flawlessly. It’s solid, reliable, and absolutely worth the investment. Highly recommended!

Has room for improvement but works great.
Overall it's a great 2 speed. I love that I don't have to stop to shift gears and I looks awesome and well built. The only improvements I think would be: putting the housing screws on the other side so I don't have to remove the servo mount for the shifter to clean and grease gears and the shifter sping is a bit tricky other then that it's great I beat the crap out of it and it's still running strong

Best one around
Love this!

Meuseless
It'll never shift. I put a fair amount of time into configuration, bought servos and arms, sat down at least four times to make it happen and exceeded my allowance for frustration. Maybe it works four times. Decided just to lock and run. Low or high, it gets hot. I greased it with nlgi#2 when I installed my motor. Power into heat, that's great. Last attempt at servo shift, I removed the entire assembly and gave it away. Good riddance. It's garbage.Bonus review, I removed one of these for a friend who said he stripped a gear in high. It had broke one of the tinier shafts inside we found on disassembly to get his motor. Garbage. He paired it with meuseless brass straight axles. One of the double cardan joints spit the pins out, which probably broke that shafts. All in the trash. No more meus parts here.

Excellent value for high and low range.
This is an awesome transition. I used the stock servo to switch gears. It was a little finicky at first, trying to get the shifting to consistently shift both directions, but once I figured out the hole in the shift shaft was threaded, I used the extension spring screwed directly to the shaft and servo horn and haven’t had any problems since.

Works great
I think most people bought without motor took it apart and put the motor on and put it together wrong but if you get with the motor works great pro tip if you screw the stock battery tray on the aluminum tray its a little tricky to get the battery in and out but over all great!!

Lack of instructions
Build quality is a 10/10 however the shift mechanism is wonky to say the least. I would like to see a sturdier solution than hooking a spring to the servo. For the price though, the metal gears mesh great and the aluminum case is machined very well so I really can’t complain. I would like to see more in depth instructions though, the 5 pictures on their website don’t show how the servo is hooked up so you have to go off customer pictures

Does not fit on aluminum CNC Chassis
I cannot write about the function of the transmission because I never got to use it. It will not work on aluminum CNC chassis. If you have an LCG or stock chassis it does come with a new mounting bracket and seems like it has great build quality. Be sure that it works for your application before ordering.
