Lies... Awful thread, not handmade
I apologize, proactively, for the following little fit I'm about to have, and also for the possibility that it could be extensive. I'm doing this because I care about quality control, and I HATE being LIED TO.These "lace doilies/placemats" are, to me, not doilies at all. The thread is thick, stiff and yarn-like. The thread is not at all a fine and soft, as great-quality, real lace and doilies are made of.Doilies are made to be fine and delicate. If they're really hand-made, they're going to have intricate designs with uneven tension in the embroidery. Even the most expertly-handmade lace and doilies are bound to have flaws in its stitching. Machine-made lace and doilies are practically exact in their designs, in the consistency of tension on the threads, and have less ornate patterns than those that are hand-made. Also, while machine-made lace and doilies are generally one flat layer with the same thickness throughout, where those that are hand-made have intricate and varying layers of threads in its embroidery.I can appreciate machine-made lace and doilies for their uniformity in making matching sets as well as for how quickly they're made and in such great amounts. For me they, at the very least, need to be made with very soft and fine thread.I truly mean this in the most polite and diplomatic way, so please don't let the following be misconstrued: I don't care that these "doilies" are ten dollars for a pack of two. Please stop the false advertising and do only real and in-person quality checks... and hire a good writer to create honest and well-worded titles and descriptions, before the product is posted for sale, please!
