I recently purchased the 80A Toner Cartridge Black - High Yield Replacement for my HP LaserJet Pro 400, and wow, what a game-changer! I was getting terrible shadows (ghost images) on all of my printing, making my printer almost useless. I read on the internet that you could clean or replace the drum and get rid of the problem. I have tried cleaning drums before with horrible results. I looked for a replacement drum and many of them had poor ratings. These drums had good ratings, but only came in a 2 pack. I would have preferred a single drum but the cost was low. I replaced my drum and poof my shadows went away. The drum fit perfectly and took just a couple of minutes to replace the drum and reinstall the toner cartridge and I expect to get another 5000 or so pages printed from my reliable and inexpensive laser printer.

I am reviewing the SUDLTO brand 05A CE505A Toner Cartridge - Replacement for HP 05A Toner Cartridge Black for HP Laserjet Printer (2-pack): On August 29, 2024, we purchased the 05A CE505A Toner Cartridge (2-pack), which is a substitute for the manufacturer’s ink product - HP 05A (2-pack) black original LaserJet toner cartridges, CE505D at a cost of $29.45 (I received a coupon for $4.50 off). The order contained 2 toner cartridges, with an advertised yield of 2,300 at 5% coverage of A4 paper per cartridge, for a total estimated useful life of 4,600 pages. The listed price was $29.99 but I paid only $25.49 with a $4.50 Amazon coupon applied and because I am a Prime member, I received free 2-day shipping. The printer model we own and are using this ink purchase for is the HP Laserjet P2055dn (PRODUCT # CE459A#ABA) - black and white only. We purchased the printer secondhand on Facebook Marketplace along with 2 used cartridges -the one already installed in the printed lasted us nearly 2 years (not kidding!) before needing a replacement and the print quality was excellent, even at 600 dpi and fast res 1200. We rarely had paper jams and the output was very efficient. In researching this product, I compared the suggested HP product to the SUDLTO brand and found them to be equivalent in terms of page yield per cartridge, but the SUDLTO product cost was significantly less than the advertised price of $207.99 for a 2-pack of the standard capacity ink. With all other factors seemingly equal, I turned to the Amazon reviews. Originally, I ordered 2 packages because (based on the significantly lower price compared to the HP brand) I thought there was only 1 – I was thrilled to see 2 cartridges in the first box! I was able to return the second package with no issues and for a quick refund. One of the deliveries also took nearly 10 days to arrive (despite the 2-day shipping) but this was not attributed to the seller and was an issue with the delivery service and the other arrived on time. Upon opening the box we found the packaging to be good but the cartridge took a minute to figure out how to insert. Once I gave it to my husband, it went in with no trouble…so must’ve been an operator error on my part. We’ve been printing with it for about 6 weeks now and I actually noticed an improvement in print clarity and sharpness. I checked today, around 50 days since purchasing, and we have used 18% of the cartridge and printed 396 pages to date. Based on the 2300 page estimate, I calculated 18% use to be 414 pages, so we are well within the expected range of use capacity. Considering that this product is priced so far below the manufacturer’s suggested retail of $207.99 for the basic (not high-yield) cartridges, this is 8 times less expensive with roughly the same output! I highly recommend it and will update this review if anything changes and if I remember, when the ink runs out I’ll check in.
