The Story of Easter: A Christian Easter Book for Kids (Little Golden Book)

I have a master's degree in Theology and taught Theology in a Catholic High School for 20 years. I bought two of these books for my two 4-year-old grandchildren. I can't say enough about how pleased I am. The story is not watered down but presented in language a child could understand. It includes all the parts of the story that you need to understand what happened. I do wish that it had shown a picture of Jesus on the cross rather than just carrying it because I think that is a very important visual to the story. At that point I feel you have to stop and explain to the children what happened. I was also very impressed by the way they presented the Easter egg concept- they made it more meaningful than just a story about an Easter Bunny and colored eggs. Well done!

A treasured Golden Book, tells the story of Jesus’ final days on earth in appropriate language for young children. We have always been able to depend on Golden Books (may that never change)!

Golden books are my favorite reading as a child so when I saw this I had to get it for the future reading to my two beautiful nieces.

I found this book to explain Easter very well to my 4 year old. It makes the story of Jesus' journey to Easter very accessible for a preschooler, yet didn't gloss over the death. I appreciate it for what it is and will be using it again next year as an Easter book for us to read together.

My granddaughter loved this Little Golden Book as part of her Easter basket. I loved the Little Golden Books when I was a child and the quality hasn't changed. Arrived in time for Easter even though I was a bit late in ordering it. No damage to book or packaging.

Truly perfect as a gift or to add to a collection for reading. I also purchased the 'Miracles of Jesus' golden book. The beautifully coloured illustrations and explanations about the story of Jesus together with the little box where one can write their name as the books owner, help continue the education and tradition that many of us have ourselves experienced from children and makes these books and story, so endearing!

A great book to introduce your child to the Christian story of Easter. We got it for our toddler and read it to her before bed in the weeks leading up to Easter. The end of the story (couppe of pages) explains the traditions of painting eggs, etc. You can choose to not read those pages.
