Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. Great dance shoe.
Purchased for my daughter’s dance competition and she loved them. Capezio is the top of the line and specializes in high quality items. You will never regret purchasing a Capezio item for a dancer. The most important part of dancing is making sure you have reliable dance gear. These are slip resistant, stretch easy to slide on and fits to size. Amazing value for the money.

Nice shoe, loved the old one hope these are just as good
My first pair from 2008 I wore a 6.5, I now wear a 8.5 in the new shoe. Originally I ordered a 6.5 thinking the size would be consistent but was I wrong! Had to do two more returns with a 7.5 then an 8. Third times was the charm I got the right size finally they feel nice, will change between the OG and the new ones and give an update which I like better.

Third time a charm!
I originally had this shoe in a children's 2. The price was half the cost of the adult shoe. The fit was snug but otherwise OK in width. Sadly, I left these shoes under a chair at an out-of-town dance workshop/event. It has been unavailable in size 2, so I ordered a similar style in adult size 3. It didn't fit well and wasn't the correct style. I then ordered this style of shoe in size 4. Shockingly, it was still too tight in width and length. After THREE returns, I took a chance and ordered a size 5. It FITS! I usually wear a children's size 1, so I am surprised this shoe fits as a size 5. This shoe style runs much smaller than your street-style shoe size, so order carefully.

Great shoe, great fit
This is the only shoe we buy for my competitive dancing daughter. Very well made and comfortable. Fit is true to size and has room to grow making it last longer. It has held up nicely to the beating they take.

Runs small
Love the idea! Feels comfortable if fit my R foot! The heels can hit I’d foot and take a while to adjust to… had to return… not have my size(12)??

Favorite Teaching Dance Slipper
The media could not be loaded. I love pedinis! They make your foot look amazing! Give a little lift and they are gorgeous for teaching and performing. Buy a little snug since the leather will stretch! Leave in the sun to dry out if they get too damp!

Zero Rating
Zero Rating!I read reviews from Amazon buyers and the company website. I did order a larger size. With so many mixed messages, I decided to order them hoping they would work for me.The company site said to order a half sizer larger. This definitely is not right. I’m not even sure a whole size would have been right. The problem is with the heel. I have never tried on a shoe that the heel is weird where it would not be comfortable for any length of time.I’m not sure if the heel is made too large where it hits too far up your foot or because the leather is just too thin so there is no padding whatsoever?I did not try to reorder a larger size because this issue would not change. This may only be an issue with this one particular shoe and not the entire brand.

Great Teaching Shoe
I was just hoping this shoe would be a great replacement for my Pedini 321 which I couldn't get anywhere in my size and it is!! I ordered a US 9. I'm a UK 6 and usually buy 8.5 in US. The front of my foot is wide and my ankle is very small (weird feet alert!). I was worried the front would be tight and although the length I could probably have gone down 1/2 a size I think I might have needed the 9 for the front width. When they arrived they looked microscopic but it's all in the stretch material. When I put them on my feet they stretched to fit and felt beautiful. I don't think they'll stretch out to the point where they'll be too big for me. They felt beautiful to teach in and felt like good support as new Capezio shoes always do! I think they are going to be better than the Pedini 321 - we'll just see how long they last on a dance teacher's foot!
