these are as good as a lock on your backpack zippers
if you're riding a subway a lot and worried about the security of your purse or backpack, these things are as good as a lock. They're just fiddley enough that even if you know how to undo them, it takes a little bit of time and for someone that doesn't know, they may as well move along to something easier.

Great for emergencies
Locked myself in the bedroom and was able to string these together to climb down 3 stories. Highly recommended.

Great for use as a key chain
I have plenty of keys and in some cases, I prefer having an easy way to attach and remove keys based on what I am doing. This is a nice set that allows me to do what I need. It is very strong and durable and have been using this brand for a few years now and it has not caused me any problems.

Small light and strong
These are small, lightweight, and so far strong as tested. They weigh 4 grams each or 0.20 oz. They seem strong as well. The package says for 3lbs but I tested them with a 25lb weight and it held with no give. The closures are a strong spring load with a plastic locking mechanism to keep hold of whatever is attached. I'm looking forward to using these for backpacking. The only downside I can see is that they are really small at 1.5" x 0.5" and with a small opening this won't work for larger size straps. I wanted to use this on my backpack carry handle and it wouldn't fit the strap easily without folding it over.
