Works great!
The media could not be loaded. I had so much fun making slushies with my daughter. It works as advertized, but you need to follow the instructions carefully (I’m glad they printed them on the side of the machine as I always lose the instruction booklets!). We found that Ice Cream salt worked best (no idea why, it just does) – FYI this doesn’t mix with the slushie, it goes in the metal container with the ice cubes.PROS: You can use any sodas or juices as long as it has high sugar content – you don’t need to buy slushie syrups. Works in about 15 min, although the drinks need to be chilled and you need to freeze the metal container for a while first. I leave it in the freezer (after rinsing it out) so it’s always ready to go. We also tested the silver insulation thing which seemed to make it work quicker in our warm kitchen.CONS: It’s quite loud, but blenders/mixers are never silent! Can’t wait to try out some new flavors – Dr Pepper next!

Optimistic
The media could not be loaded. I am updating my initial review. We weren’t successful with this, but I so appreciate the follow up and explanation's from the vendor/seller. He was concerned about how he could correct the malfunction, so this doesn’t happen again. So with that said, even though this product didn’t work out for my family, I’d consider purchasing from seller again.Original post:So I purchased this in March and finally got around to using it. The thing was going for over 30 minutes and we never were successful with getting beverage to freeze. I decided to take a video after waiting a long while. This was two adults. I no longer had patience to deal with this thing. I could have just went to 7 11 or whatever. This was a total waste of money and our time.

Works Great But Requires User Input
Bought this for my kids who are Slushy mad. After a bit of research and trial and error we’ve got it working like a dream. Kids don’t stop asking for more slushees. It turns out the 7-Eleven Slushie machines used a 13% sugar mix, but anything from 11% to 15% should work fine. Coke (11%) works fine, but Mtn Dew (12-13%) is better. We tried a 8% sugar fruit juice but it formed a hard ice (not slush) layer which was difficult for the machine to process. In the end we bought a gallon of Blue Raspberry syrup on Amazon, which should keep us in slushies for a while! Great product!

Product was a huge disappointment.
If I could rate this product with a 0, I would. I followed the directions perfectly. The first time I attempted to make the smoothie I used the thick smoothie mix which I bought on amazon. That definitely did not work. The second attempt was with a pop base which I prechilled as directed. This too never even began to freeze. This product was a father's day gift and was a huge disappointment. I would never recommend it to anyone.

Great slushies! Worked well.
My kids and I had a lot of fun making slushies. It’s like a mini science experiment: the salt gets the ice much colder than it ordinarily would, which makes the coke (or whichever soda) form a slush layer on the outside of the metal cup. (FYI the salt is in a different area to the slush and doesn’t mix with it, similar to making homemade ice cream). The paddles spin around the cup, gradually scraping off the slush layer. Yes, it’s a bit loud but I’ve got a blender that’s way louder than this! It's a party hit. Kid approved.

Don't think it's worth the money
Bought this for my husband's birthday!! Takes awhile to serve and was actually really loud and came out thick!! Honestly thought we broke it the first time he used it because it was so loud and slow. 😞
