Easy on the fingers
I’m just starting to learn clawhammer so this isn’t a “pro” opinion, but these seem like fine strings and you can’t beat the price. I’ve been practicing and I can’t find any fault with the strings, just my fingers. They give the tone I would expect from clawhammer strings. The first and 5th strings are very fine and I accidentally snapped the 1st string while tuning up, but that’s my mistake. Fortunately the 5th string is the same gauge and is the same length so I just swapped them and everything turned out okay.

My Favorite Banjo Strings By Far
These are my favorite banjo strings. The warm sound that these produce is second to none. Keep in mind, I primarily play old timey music on an open back banjo - not blue grass. These give me that perfect mellow sound. When tuned down, they give that distinct dissonant sound that can really turn heads. Few strings that I have used even come close to comparing to these. These are my go to for sure and I always have at least one spare set on hand.

Broken Loop —- great customer support!
I've used them for years but this set came with a broken loop on the #3 string.Update: I got a quick response from Ernie Ball customer service and they are sending me a replacement set of strings. They are a top notch company.

Works well. Has a bit of a learning curve.
I'm using it for my guitar practice. Metronome works quite well as does the tuner, which is very accurate. Typical metronome sound. Changing tempo is easy, but getting the downbeat where you want it takes a little practice. I'm still figuring that out.

go to strings
After trying as countless varieties as the next guy, these have become my default go to strings -- decent price, sound solid, not too heavy/not too flimsy, and they're especially resistant to breaking in my experience. Amazon reports I've ordered them 18 times from them alone.
