NPG Stevia Extract Powder 7 Ounce, Plant-Based Zero Calorie Sweetener, Sugar Substitute for Coffee, Tea, and More, Natural Sweetener, Sugar Alternative

The amount you need to use to make your coffee sweet is a lot. I find I need to use 2 tablespoons so it makes no sense to buy this super tiny bottle of stevia that does not work as well as other brands.

The packaging is great, with a safety wrapper around the lid, a safety seal on the jar top, and also a card insert under the shaker and spoon opening. It's a very fine powder and I tasted some directly after opening it and it had a nice sweet taste, no aftertaste or bitterness. I didn't see any indication of how much to use compared to regular sugar but I poured a glass of iced tea and put a small spoonful in. It wasn't actually as sweet as I expected it to be but I didn't add more and it was just fine, I'm just happy there are no calories but I don't think I would replace all of my sugar uses with this because it is a little expensive for me, that's why I deducted one star. If it was a more highly concentrated substance with maybe a 5:1 sweetness ratio it might be justified, but I'll mostly use it for tea and coffee. I am happy with it and it does have a nice taste, thanks.

The numbers on this don't sort out given the amount of Erythritol per spoon is listed and with Stevia listed as the first ingredient making up the rest a teaspoon of this should come closer to the sweetness of half a cup of sugar but I just made concentrated tea and split it into 2 diluted quarts and put this sweetener in one and the store brand I bought last with same listed ingredients in the other. I used twice of this than was sweet enough with the other and the taste barely changed. I would never use more than the equivalent a teaspoon of real sugar in a cup, while this looks like a generous container it will take lots of it. Tasting this directly is nowhere near as sweet as any comparable product I've tried.

No flavor.

I ordered this NPG Stevia Extract Powder, because I am trying to cut back on the amount of sugar I consume. This stevia powder does a good job of making my tea taste sweet. The container has a solit top.. you can use it like a shaker, or use a spoon, on the other half. I would like to use it in baking, but I’m not sure how much to use, in the place of sugar. This company has a website and it has recipes, but I didn’t see any recipes with Stevia in them. I hope they add some, soon, or give amounts of Stevia to use, when substituting it for sugar in the recipes on their website. The container is 7 oz, and for me, at the current price, it is a little expensive.

This NPG Stevia Extract Powder is not as sweet as comparable brands with the same ingredients. It does not say that it is nor does it taste like a 1:1 ratio sweetener, like most brands, but more like a 2:1. As such, I think it is best suited for shaking on top of foods such as toasted or baked goods. For my use, it takes twice as much as what I would usually use, so the small container is not a very economical choice, in my opinion. Not my favorite...
