Any Salad Imaginable.
An excellent salad recipe book. Hundreds of recipes and photos for every recipe. Love it.Some are simple, only because I am not a novice home cook. Salads aren't difficult to make, but it is about culture flavors and pairing ingredients that make them interesting and tasty. From Greek to Tabouli, Middle Eastern to American Potato Salad. In contents, dressings are listed separately. The recipe as in ingredients are laid out differently. They are listed by each action that coincides with the instructions. "Start Out" "Whisk" "Toss" Which is easy enough to follow.Ingredients are listed with quantity amounts such as cups, ml. teaspoon and etc. Use your scale for volume, ml.I am very happy with my purchase.

Fresh, quality recipes, lots of variety
I ordered this book after seeing the author on TikTok, where she shares her fresh, delicious-looking salad recipes. The book itself is excellent quality—hardcover with thick pages—perfect for kitchen use where durability matters. It includes a generous variety of recipes, starting with core classics like Caesar and Cobb. A great feature is that each salad comes with a homemade dressing recipe, offering a fresher alternative to store-bought options. Of course, you can easily substitute with store-bought dressing if you’re short on time. The author also highlights her recommended tools (like knives and dressing beakers). While not essential for making tasty salads, they’re helpful additions if you want to elevate your prep game.I’m excited to dive into some of the more creative recipes! This book is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to add fresh, flavorful salads to their routine.

Extremely well-thought out!
This cookbook is methodical and meticulous, filled with informative asides and fun, brief anecdotes. I am an experienced home cook so most of the info was not new to me, but it is wonderful to have the knowledge in one place as a reference that can be extrapolated to cooking in general, not just salads. I think this would be a great book for a newer home cook because it teaches things like ingredient selection, purchasing and preparation, how to make substitutions, useful kitchen equipment to have, community implications of our food systems, of course fantastic recipes, and much more. All of it is presented in a relaxed and accessible yet very clear and concise way. This cookbook is the work of many people but the leader is the author Darlene, obviously a high achieving and extremely competent person who has produced one of the most perfectly balanced and useful cookbooks I’ve ever seen. I bought this because I wanted to support her and have a bunch of the recipes together without searching TikTok; however, as it turns out, this a distillation of years of experience and learning, not just in the kitchen, that will serve the reader in their approach to food, community, and even life. I’m just really impressed!

If your salad obsessed you'll love this book
The media could not be loaded. So if your salad obsessed and trying to eat more veggies and keep your self healthy you need to make some room on your book shelf for yes another cookbook. Lord knows I have so many but I have been on the hunt for awhile for another book that is exclusively on the art of making a good salad. No I mean a great salad like the kind you get at a restaurant and your like wow I want to make that kind of salad at home and stop paying 20 bucks for one at a diner. This book has every kind of salad you can think of (chopped, pasta salads, potato salads, fruit salads and even some copycat recipes).Being from Chicago but now living out of state I had to try the "windy city chopped" or better known as "Portillo's" salad. The recipe was pretty spot on and tasted like the one I have eaten there. The rest of the recipes look good so I tried several more to see if they were restaurant style worthy. I made the orzo salad, lemon basil, chicken pesto, red, white, blue salad and the taco salad. My favorite salad so far is the grilled peach salad. All of the salads were wonderful and refreshing to eat. There are a little over 70 recipes with almost all having a photo. There is also a section on how to make dressings from scratch. There is no nutritional info it would have been nice to at least have sodium content as I know sometimes resturant type salads tend to be high in sodium. Mostly from the dressings I suppose. If you do purchase this book just realize you are going to be doing a lot of chopping of lettuce, veggies, herbs etc. Some of the recipes will require time and effort on your part. I had to take out the grill to grill the peaches for that yummy salad. Also, some of the dressing recipes appear to use the same ingredients over and over ( olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon, white wine vinegar etc). I went back and forth with my rating between a 4 and 5. I think it deserves a 4.5 but since that's not a option I gave it the 5 for that delicious peach salad and windy city chopped salad recipe. If you are committed to wanting to make good, filling and flavorful salads at home this cookbook will be a great addition and help you achieve that goal.
