Having bought a 15$ True Metrix meter I wanted to be sure it was in the ball park calibration wise. The test strip container gives the range to expect and this solution gives the midpoint range. I found the meter was reading 4 points high. This was the first test and I will perform a few more in the future to determine the stability of the test strips and meter. Fortunately, the test strips are relatively inexpensive but unfortunately they only are guaranteed a few months after opening the vial. Working on diet to bring early morning glucose levels down to normal levels. Brownies and ice cream are the problem HA.

This allows you to have a control solution bit what I liked about it is that you can test the strips and the machine without pinching yourself to infinity trying to verify if the vile of test strips you just bought is any good. Or even if you want to try out a different cheaper test strip. You don’t have to pinch yourself to find out.

It gives a measurement within the range it is designed for letting you know if your meter is accurate or not. Just place a drop where you normally place your blood sample.

I bought an extra meter and both the level 2 & 3 control. Meters were only 10 dl apart. Both control solutions were in range

This testing solution only tells you if it’s in the ballpark range of your glucose range. I knew that already! So if your glucose meter is in the ballpark range don’t bother buying a testing solution.
