Ethernet for ESP32

They work great. I did have to use a different library. My project has been running for 6 month 24/7. FYI the isolation filter is built-in the RJ45.

Great, works with Amiga Vampire V2+

Purchased for the Amiga Vampire 500 V2+. Yup, works properly.

Just what I was looking for

Arrived quickly and works great.

Sort of got it to work

First, I wouldn't listen to what people say about hooking the unit up to +5V for the power supply. Use 3.3 Volts. A previous reviewer mentioned a 3.3 voltage regulator on the board. It's certainly not on my board. As backup I did a search with an AI search engine and the consensus is 3.3 volts Also the hookups and advice on how to connect the chip could be different depending on the libraries you use. Many of the videos and tutorials show that CS (chip select) should be connected pin 8 on the uno. It turns out that I had to use pin 10. Note that it's CS on the board, but it's SS or slave select on the spi bus. The company that makes the board offers zero support. Hope this helps!

Works well, but have to ignore the schematic

Module works as expected documentation is incorrect or confusing though, hence knocking off one star.Ignore the schematic. The header pinout is incorrect, use the silk screen instead.Device accepts 5v power or 3.3v (Do not connect both)5v pin is connected to a 3.3v regulator to power the enc chip.3.3v can be used directly by connecting to the Q3 pin, leave 5v pin unconnected.ST pin is MOSI and would have expected it to be labeled SI.LNT pin is INT.I used this with a Raspberry PI compute module and it worked great! 10mb is a little slow but was still able to use VNC over it.

Arrived Broken

It was clear this component was stored in poor conditions. There were signs of water damage and the base board PCB was chipped. Would recommend using the w5500 modules instead.

The chip itself is perfect (ENC28J60) but the breakout board is not

EDIT: This board needs a 5V input while I was trying to power it with a 3.3V input.ORIGINAL:The chip works as the datasheet specifies. One thing to watch out for, however, is less than pristine soldering and ambiguous pinouts on the breakout board.MOSI on the board is ST (one would expect SI), the interrupt pin is LNT (again, INT is to be expected), there's a Q3 pin whose functionality is lost on me because the pinout on HiLetgo's schematic doesn't specify it, there's a second ground pin, and while the power pin specifies 5V, this board should not operate with a 5V input unless there's some unknown level shifter within the board. The main problem I had on startup was the unstable oscillator. I realized later that the power and ground pins on the PCB were shorted. As soon as I used the other ground on the board, the issue was solved and the chip operated as is specified on the datasheet. It's a really weird solution to a really simple problem that wouldn't happen had there been sufficient quality control.

The ENC38J60 will not run W5100 code!!!

Really not the manufacturer’s fault but when I searched for a W5100 eithernet module (which is 100% not compatible with the ENC28J60) I had a choice to either reinvent the wheel or shell out another $14 for a module that actually had the correct chip in it. Either way it is put a dampener on my project. Not happy about that.
