The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear (Child's Play Library)

I ordered this book for my 2 year old as it was a childhood favourite of mine. It didn't disappoint. The story alludes to "The Big Hungry Bear" who never actually appears, it is the clever tone of the writing and the expressive illustrations which get you to buy into the story. In some ways it's quite a dark tale, but at the moment as my daughter is still so young she just likes the pictures and doesn't fully understand the implications of the story. I remember loving this story up until the age of about 10yrs so I hope it will grow in popularity with my daughter as she grows up. A great buy for any age.

Fantastic book, highly recommend. Beautiful illustrations

I gave this to my niece! The plot is a good metaphor for how the government will always make up or use some rumored threat, to take more power and more of what is yours from you in tax. I hope she realizes that she doesn't need to live in fear. When she is older I will buy her Thomas Sowells Basic Economics. Every child should listen to that audio-book before high school so as to know how commodities relate to each other, so that they are not stolen from by propagandists.

Much loved. Now a classic. Please buy this to make the small person in your life happy. Go for the large format though, the little cardboard book just isn't the same.

My favourite book to read to the kids and now I pass it on to others to read to theirs. Magical

One of my favourite childhood books I now have the honour of owning and reading to my little one. Beautiful illustration. Detailed pictures. Reading in from first person point of view as if the little mouse could hear you. Genius idea.

Lovely book for any age and the ideal gift

I bought this as a replacement copy after 6 years for my younger 2 year old child as the older one had been ripped . I just had to as both my children love this book . She finds it very interesting and funny and now tries to "read" it on her own.

マウスの体の肉付きが、触りたいほどよく描かれているし、イチゴも瑞々しく美味しそうです。絵本の読み聞かせ用に購入しました。内容もいつ、腹ペコ熊が現れるか、ハラハラドキドキです。読み手がマウスに話しかけている文章で、面白く読めます。

A whimsical storyline with a cute little mouse who must somehow keep his favourite snack from a bear 🐻 , whom we never actually get a glimpse of. Giggles and suspense!
