Saftron Steel 24"H 180 Degree Rotating Inground Hot Tub Spa Floor Entry & Exit Handrail Accessory with Lift & Turn Base, Beige

I have a dip pool and this was needed for myself and elderly parents- I was nervous installing, but really was not bad. Make sure to use a hammer drill and Mason Drill bits. As one reviewer mentioned, the screws are 1/2 inch, but the anchors are 5/16 (that is what I drilled). Resist temptation to use an impact driver to tighten bolts (whoops)- a ratchet is much smoother and won't pound the concrete or pavers. I gave it one start less only because the instructions were not very good. Other than that so far so good!

We needed a railing to enter our in-ground spa for safety reasons. The Saftron looked to be exactly what we wanted. It claimed to have installation instructions, the bolts to anchor the base in the concrete and it was adjustable to 180 degrees. There were no installation instructions either in the package or online. My handyman had to buy new and larger bolts to secure the base. The railing lifts out and can be fitted into the base in one of two opposite directions (180 degrees). I don't understand the purpose of the two directions because only one direction will have the railing facing the spa. We like the fact that the railing can separate from the base when not in use, but because it's supposed to be secured in the base with allen screws it may not be safe to make it portable. All in all, it works fine and we're happy with it.

Not sure what the deal is on some of the negative reviews - probably buyers who didn't bother to understand what they needed. Yes, this is a plastic handrail and base but it is VERY thick and strong. It is a smaller handrail ideal for small pools and especially SPAs. If you have a great big pool then don't buy it. We installed it on our SPA as the last step out is very high and you need something to steady yourself on. It is the perfect size for that, plus it's smaller profile is less intrusive looking. Also, we live in SW Florida where even the best stainless steel can rust - not a problem with this handrail. Yes, the plastic anchors are crap. You will need the expanding lead anchors - cost less than $2. It was very easy to install. You will need a hammer drill and the three lead anchors. Bottom line: know what you need and want. This, for us, has been an OUTSANDING, high quality product for the money.

The manual incorrectly states that a 1/2-in drill bit should be used. The correct bit is 5/16. The lag screws are two and a half inches. Drill the holes 3 in deep.

At first I was very reluctant to do the install, for fear of damaging the concrete pool deck. I read all of the user reviews and various folks' attempts at improving on the maker's provided hardware. After downloading and studying the detailed instructions; not the ones that come in the box with the handrail, I inserted the handrail into the base and held it in position where one would most likely need it upon stepping into the pool; while carefully penciling the bolt hole positions for the surface mount base. I then followed the instructions to the letter, taking great time in very slowly drilling 2-1/2-inch bolt holes, starting with a small bit and working up; then setting in the provided plastic anchors and finally bolting down the base with the provided marine-grade stainless steel screws with a 1/2-inch socket wrench, before re-inserting the handrail and tightening the allen-head screws. I wound up with a perfect install; wife and I both very happy with this sturdy and attractive handrail!

We needed a handrail for support to get in and out of our swim spa. Our deck is within a few inches of the top of our spa, so having a handrail to help keep our balance was a necessity. I am very happy with this product. It seems to be very high quality and looks nice. Being able to lift and turn it 180 degrees makes getting the cover on and off much easier. I would recommend that an adult is designated to turn the handrail to ensure it is all the way down where it should be. I'm the one who typically takes the cover on and off, so I'm the one responsible for ensuring it is in the proper position. It seems like it would be impossible for it to come out when entering and exiting, if is pushed all the way down as it should be. The only way to get it out is to pull straight up on it. We apply pressure down when we enter and exit the spa. I would recommend that children are told not mess with it.

I lowered my jacuzzi into the ground , and as I have gotten older it is harder to enter and leave . this handle allows me and my wife to . have a hand hold on something when we enter and leave . and as it can be turned sideways when not in use ,it does not make it difficult to remove the cover over the Jacuzzi .

This came sooner than expected. Simple to assemble (as soon as I figured out I needed an allen key to tighten the handrail). Perfect for our hot tub.

Were using this for our hot tub, we ordered two, they work great, easy to install, we actually put bolts right through the deck for added Safety

Delivery was very fast and the handrail is exactly as described. Haven't installed it yet.

I was very disappointed with this product because they did not send the part that attaches to the pool, called the lift and turn base, so that the hand rail can be inserted. I phoned and asked for the part but it was not sent to me, now I have a handrail that cannot be used as a safety device at the stairs of the pool.
