Q: what kind of brush to apply evenly & will the leather need something applied before for better coverage if the leather is porous?

To provide a smooth finish, I find that those foam brushes, usually sold at the Crafts stores, work the best. Also, to provide a better application, clean the leather with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. Let it dry at 2 hours before applying paint.
