It worked very well on one Shim and now I got some more stock left over the next time we need it

This is absolutely no good for making jewelry, it is not pure brass, it is not workable material.
This looks like brass but does not act like brass when heated. IT does not anneal well. It warps worse than nickel. It is very difficult to work with. This may be brass, but if so it has levels of impurities. If all you want to do is cut it into shape, fine. If you want to try and forge this, for get it. Annealing this warps so much you will never get your desired shape. Soldering is difficult on this material as well. If you want to use it like a jeweler would, go to a reputable jewelery supply house and get your brass from them.
