Q: Does it work for 2nd generation?

Yes, I have a 2nd generation Ring doorbell. It comes with extra padding that you can remove if not needed. I only need two of the four pieces of padding so its secure.

Q: Will this work with aosu doorbell?

No idea I only used my Ring doorbell w/ thru the door eye hole. That did not work

Q: Does this protect from rain as well?

Yes! It’s been very stormy out here and it has great coverage

Q: Was the 2020 release mounting bracket (with 4 screws) and magnate button used in the assembly? So what is holding the unit together?

There is one screw on the top and one on the bottom securing it stay together
