This 26-piece alphabet sound puzzle pronounces the name of each letter when it is placed correctly in the sturdy wooden puzzle board! Colorful wooden pieces are slightly raised above the puzzle board for easy grasping. Pictures underneath each piece help reinforce the relationship between letters and their sounds. Kids three and older will love learning their ABCs while developing fine motor and sensory skills. (TIP: Puzzle has light-activated sensors; for best results, expose the sensor by removing a piece in a brightly lit room, then make the sound play by replacing the piece in the board.) Top Quality! Fun Way to Teach the Alphabet!
I loved this alphabet puzzle bc it’s a super fun way to teach my 2 yr old granddaughter the alphabet! She removes all the letters and then covers and uncovers the spot where the sound comes out so it will say the letter. Then we search for the letter together. It usually helps if I hint as to what the color of the letter she is looking for is bc she can recognize and say her colors already!

Defective - Doesn’t Work
I took a chance on this but unfortunately it does not work. Listen to the other negative reviews - some letters make no sound at all and many sounds are wrong. Example the S will say it’s a J. Also when the pieces are removed the remaining holes to fill look nothing like the letters. Just overall disappointed because we were really looking forward to this. Do not waste your money or time.

The littles ones really like this.
My wife is an occupational therapist and works predominantly with 3-5 year olds with developmental issues. She has been using this alphabet puzzle with the kids who are learning their ABC’s and has had pretty good responses. The children were very responsive to the board reacting to them putting the letters in the correct spot. Now, you can get any of the letters to respond by covering the optical sensor, so it cannot discern between each letter. Also, some letters that are symmetrical, like ‘X’, can only go in one way; minor issue or a non issue most likely. There is also only a single response to any particular letter, so it may get stale for some children after a couple of uses. The fact that there is an on/off switch is nice, apparently a lot of electronic educational toys lack this feature. Two possible negatives are the volume is non-adjustable. The volume is perfectly fine in a home setting, but a bit quiet in a classroom setting; it is still usable just harder to hear. The other possible negative is that you’ll need a bag for letters if you plan on moving this from location to location. This is to be expected, but some toys have a cover to keep the letters in place.Operational limitations I have observed are when in non-institutional lighting areas (like in the home) the optical sensors can fail to recognize the letter being put in place. If you make sure there is some direct light on the board this is not an issue. One other limitation is once the audio starts for a letter, it will play the whole message regardless if you plane another letter or cover a sensor.Based off of the quality of the product and the great response by the children who use it, I’d say this is a hit and good product!I’d say it’s a 5 star for home or classroom use, but for the younger children. I’d give it 4 stars if you need to take it to multiple locations or if your intent is for a single child to use it.

Quality made learning tool
I love products by this company and know they will be of quality construction and materials. I like that this is made of wood and can withstand a young child's rough handling of it. When the letter is placed in the correct slot The voice that says what the letter is and what the picture representing that letter is is easy to understand. I do wish it was opposite of the way that it works. Meaning that I wish that when you took the letter out it would say what the letter is as well as the item pictured. This is a very versatile product though because I have a two-year-old grandson and a four-year-old granddaughter that are using it. I like how it helps with dexterity, especially for the 2-year-old. My 4-year-old granddaughter is in preschool and learning a letter each week and this helps to reinforce that. I think it's a great item for the price and would definitely recommend it
