Skechers Women's Hillcrest Hiking Shoe

These shoes are really nice and comfortable, I love the ease of putting them on and taking them off. I’ve worn them in the rain and have not had any issues with slipping. They have a nice tread on them. They look great. They have a pretty good arch support as well. By them, you won’t be disappointed.

I had originally ordered this style in another color, and found them to be too snug. I reordered the color I originally wanted in a wide and the fit was much better. It is odd, the wide does not look wide, at all. Anyway, the fit was better but these suckers are very poorly designed. The top of the shoe, the tongue area, runs very high on the instep. I am talking up to the joint at the top of my foot. It wouldn't be so bad if the shoe had more flexibility, but alas, the upper part of the shoe is a bit stiff. The insole area is okay, although not nearly as comfortable as the mesh sneaks. I thought these were step ins. They are not. Getting my foot situated in the shoe with the awkward cut was a clue these might be problematic. After receiving them I realized I have a pair of dark brown suede Skechers, but not really the style I was looking for. That pair is a loafer, and runs big so socks are a must. I was looking for something I could go sans socks in if I wanted. I could with this pair, going to a wide size, but the discomfort on the top of the shoe may be a deal breaker. I hate to wear them and be unable to return them. They are not inexpensive, so I am on the boarder as to whether I just return them or give them a shot.I finally wore these out and about and was very surprised at how comfortable they ended up being. I had no rubbing where I thought I might. I had on a relatively thick pair of socks so that might have made the difference. However. They are hard to put on. Might have to break out an old shoe horn. I upgraded to 4 stars after giving them a second chance.

I like to wear hikers in the winter, as I live in the north. I need a shoe that will grip well in the snow and sleet, so I don't end up in a pile on parking lots. These hikers have nice grippy soles, are super comfortable, and look nice enough to pass for a casual shoe. A winner! Oh, and they have a nice wide toe box, if you have duck feet like me.

The fit is great and true to size. The shoes are so beautiful that I was hesitant to wear them hiking, but after a week of streetwear, I decided to actually use them as hiking shoes. Great decision! I wore them for a 7.8 mile mountain hike last weekend and they were absolutely amazing! Comfortable enough to walk 8 miles, rugged enough to handle roots and stones and sharp inclines, and they still looked great after I cleaned off all the mud.Also, I accidentally ordered an 8 instead of an 8.5 the first time and the exchange process was super easy and fast. Great shoes from a great seller with excellent customer service.

This shoe is very nice looking.... BUT !!!The insole is paper thin. Sure it's memory foam but that has no aid in support for your feet. However; I put a Dr. Scholl's I think incert in this shoe and it was wonderful. The other thing with this shoe is where it says it's a WIDE size, it really isn't. If it is, it's just barely wide. I didn't return the shoe because it is a good looking shoe and with the incert it's wearable for a short period of time before foot pain begins . I would recommend this shoe .
