These were packed very carefully with multiple layers of cardboard and boxes. There was no damage in transit but one plate had a tiny chip in the finish on the eating surface.The appearance is contemporary. You get 2 beige colored lunch plates, dinner plates and the bowls. Then you get 1 blue and 1 grey of each for a total of a 4 piece serving set. They are stoneware so they have a decent weight, more than a bone china.
