First of all, I'm not a huge fan of these but the four stars come from the fact that these ARE high quality. They're sturdy, heavy, and the magnets are powerful. They're really solid which I'm guessing is what you're paying for, and the listing on this product is accurate.Because of the strength of the magnets, however, I really wouldn't recommend these for younger kids, say 4 or younger. You really have to pry them apart. As a fidget toy, I'm going to assume these are being played with in class, or during cyber school etc. Again, I wouldn't recommend them for this. Because they're strong and heavy, they clatter and make a lot of noise on the table and when they snap together which would just be distracting. They also do require focus to make anything out of them, so it's not really just fidgeting anymore. Maybe it'd be better for kids playing when they're in front of the tv or waiting at a doctor's office etc.Today my 12yr old son had a sick day from school and he played with them for about 20 minutes, and then I noticed he put them aside and played with a different type of magnetic 3d puzzle. I asked him why and he said "eh, I got bored with it". It was a brand new toy and didn't hold his attention for more than 20 minutes, even though he plays with magnetic 3d puzzles all the time. I found that pretty telling.Of course I tried these pieces out myself. I found them to be fun for about two minutes. It comes with a little booklet of things you can make, all of which can be completed in about two-4 minutes, then the book is done. With only one set of these you're pretty limited as to what you can do with them. I found them to be more engaging to put them on the side of the refrigerator and make 2d shapes. My son was intrigued by this and played like this himself for another five minutes or so. We also made a 'necklace' out of them which was kind of fun.The puzzle comes in a color on one side and clear on the other. It creates a pretty cool crystal look which I wasn't expecting, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. We got the black ones, and for sure, any of the other brightly colored ones would have been more attractive. Get the colored ones if you decide to purchase.I think these could be used in a classroom setting with mimicking patterns or designs, and they'd come in handy that way. But for the price point, that doesn't really seem affordable to me. They may also work well for fine motor skills for the elderly. These do store and carry nicely. They come in a flat case so you can slip them into a tote bag, or you could just stack them and carry that way. If you had multiple sets you could put them into a generic looking makeup bag for carrying. Just a thought. For my own personal daily storage, I'm just keeping them on the refrigerator. For versatility, and re-playability, I'd really put these at a 2-3star. There are so many other magnetic toys that grow with children and hold their attention time and time again. But the quality is worth 5 stars, easily. Average, 4 stars.

I absolutely LOVE these things! I am a sucker for magnets & building toys and these are just lovely! The color is beautiful (clear blue/turquoise) and the way they move and fit together is so satisfying! These would be amazing with multiple kits and colors and could image kids loving these like they love “building blocks.” But I am now obsessed with magnetic building toys because of these! Absolutely fantastic!*The New color (sparkly blue) looks SO GOOD!! And I was right: this is SUPER FUN with multiple sets!! It’s actually giving me back that spark of creativity I have been missing. I know, I am a weird 44 YO man, what can I say 😂🤣😂🤷🏽‍♂️*Just received the black with sparkles and it looks SO COOL! Like outerspace on the plates! Will mix well with the blue ones I already have! These are all so beautiful as well as addictively fun. But I am a child at heart, obviously 🤪🤷🏽‍♂️*Smooth black looks so cool, especially compared to the sparkly black!
