A marathon movie
Watching this movie was a challenge to me as I really am not into Marathons. However seeing the vision of Scotty Curlee as he seeks to bring to the screen a portion of the life of two married people who have two different perspectives on an event in their lives was an effort on my part. I want to keep an open mind on movies like this. The challenge is that the reality of taking an entire 40 something portion of two peoples lives and squeezing it into 2 hours or less just leaves something out. A lot of people admire this Teacher. They admire his life. They admire his marriage. They love to see him encourage others by running these marathons. The reality is that on the other side their is a family missing their Dad. To me this can be a very inspirational movie. Evidentially this man had some heart issues but kept doing what he loved. He seemed to be in good health at a time. I understand all about giving up on what you love. I can no longer dance or ride a bicycle, teach Sunday School, get down on the floor with my babies and play and a host of other things I once loved. Yet Christ helped me find other ways to enjoy life, enjoy my family and yes, the scripture Isaiah 40:31 got me out of my bed years ago and up on my feet. There are millions of people on this Earth that take walking for granted. Not me! When I was down, Christ taught me to take life in 15 minute increments. Because of devastating spinal damage and discouraging depression, I was down for the count! But through prayer, I began to learn to trust Christ one second at a time, one moment at a time, one hour at a time and one day at a time. This story was inspiring. All marriages have to run a marathon of trust, forgiveness, mercy and grace. No marriage will survive without compromise and prayer to the one that created it. I think I was what the director wanted me to see. I love Leland and Sheri here as well as a few others. The director was actually in the movie. I like when that happens. Enjoy and be inspired. :)

Very rare to find a clean movie
Lots of the allegedly Christian movies have more challenges in it than virtue this was a decent movie to watch

Great family film!
This is a great family film! My two year old even asks to watch it again after we finish it. It’s a relief to find a movie that portrays a true-life story and helps encourage fighting for your marriage and family especially in a time in society where the world tells you to quit when times get hard or when you’re not happy in the moment. Feelings change every second and being able to persevere and make it through the challenging times in life will allow us to reap the benefits in sticking through the hard times. Research shows couples who do choose to work it out even in unhappy times, are happier again down the road when they can overcome those hard times in life. Studies done on long-lasting marriages show happiness doesn’t change drastically the longer you are married, but what does change is a couple’s ability to resolve conflict. Get help when needed and keep moving forward. This is a wonderfully made movie and brings light into this world for marriages and families.

A good family movie
This was a good movie for family viewing. The story is about a family with a father who runs long distance marathons. It was interesting and inspirational even though I'm not personally into running. The DVD arrived quickly and played well in the US region machine. It does have English Subtitles for those with hearing loss.

Remarkable movie about real life struggle a family faced
This movie resonated with me. I identified w/ Dr. Horton on several levels. As a military member, I understand what it is to do something for others and the struggle it is to balance high tempo career with family. I hate being away from my family as often as I am, but I also know God has called me to fulfill this role at this time in my life. At the same time, I recognize my family is my most important ministry and God's greatest gifts to me. I must be willing to give this up if they need me to.

Inspiring True Story
Inspiring to see a "crazy" man's dream of pushing himself to run the Trans America race inspite of the "pains" he went through, including those of his family. His wife, who later on supported him, has to see it through the eyes of someone who cares, proved to be of "extraordinary" encouragement to him.Actors played their parts well.
