Disappointing experience using the kindle app
PROSThe positives first… it’s a great looking book, has a lot of imformation about the subjects and is well presented with some lovely images. It’s a bit basic, but is obviously aimed at kids. It’s pretty good value on sale too. It could be an ideal quick reference book. That’s if it offered all that it promised.CONSSo, onto the negatives. Quite a few I’m afraid. Firstly, you can only view the ebook as single pages, surely you should be able to see double page spreads. Pretty much every other kindle book has this option. It also says it’s 1008 pages long in the description. Far from it. The last numbered page in the kindle version is 192. In the contents you can’t even tap on an item and go to the relevant section. The only ways to navigate are to tap on each page or use the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. It is somewhat Russian roulette to get to the area you wish to read. It’s frustrating to say the least. All the pages can be zoomed in, but not enough to double the size of the images and enjoy the art or architecture to its fulllest. When you do so, the images and text start to get blurry. This is very disappointing for this type of book. It’s the one main reason to get an ebook like this. You cannot even bookmark a page, never mind copy or highlight any text. It’s basically just colour photocopied! How big is the file size, even if it was saved as a PDF it could offer everything that it should? There’s only one other title, out of the thousands I have that doesn’t adhere to the regular kindle ebook convention. That’s a DK title. It’s called” how things work encyclopaedia”. Ironically it doesn’t live up to its name either. I also see that’s under review by Amazon. It’s a lot worst to be fair. I’d have given it no stars if that was an option.CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONSSo to sum up, the good content gets a star and so does the layout and design overall. For the many issues I have outlined above, I should really give it one star overall. At the price I got it for, it may serve a purpose. I am still undecided if I will keep it or not. It needs the resolution to be increased, a bookmark option added and an easier way to navigate. Then it would be well worth purchasing, even at a higher price. Basically, just convert it to a PDF file.

Only 186 pages and not 1080 as in book description
In description it says the book has 1080 pages. In fact it has 186 pages. I have many books on Art already but this one attempted me because I assumed it really covers everything in great detail and with many pictures. It almost seemed excessive for children. Well, it is a great book if you don't already have many similar books.
