Important Note for Customers:
The EcoSail air deflector is not a conventional hard plastic deflector. If you're expecting a rigid, traditional deflector, this product may not meet your expectations. Instead, the EcoSail, a hand made product, features a unique, sail-like design that in essence floats above the air vent/register, catching and redirecting air, much like a sail catches wind to propel a boat. This innovative approach provides numerous advantages over conventional deflectors, as discussed below.

EcoSail Air Deflector Advantages:
1. Enhanced Heating & Cooling: The EcoSail enhances home comfort and energy efficiency by automatically closing against your floor vents when your HVAC system is not actively pushing air. This simple yet ingenious design prevents the backflow of expensive heated, cooled, or humidity-controlled air into your ductwork, where it’s wasted. This ensures that conditioned air remains in the room where it belongs, leading to more consistent temperatures and lower energy bills.
2. Directs Airflow Where You Want It: The left and right side strips on the EcoSail’s underside float above the vent/register when air flows thru the vent and provide weight to weigh down the EcoSail’s sides to direct airflow forward. These floating strips can also be removed and/or repositioned to point airflow where you need it, even if your vents are located under furniture, drapes, or blinds. Removing and/or repositioning a floating side strip also enables you to point airflow away from you if you’re sitting or sleeping close to a vent.
3. Works on All Vents including wood vents and floors. As shown in the product video, the EcoSail is a rectangularly shaped piece of fabric (laser-cut industrial strength fabric) that has a magnetic strip(s) on one long side of the EcoSail for attaching it to the corresponding side of a vent/register (or floor). The EcoSail also includes an extra magnetic strip for enabling the EcoSail to be attached to wood floors and vents. The extra magnetic strip is placed - adhesive side down - against a wood vent or an adjacent area of a wood floor so that when it lines up with the magnetic strip on the EcoSail, the EcoSail will cover the vent. It works not just on wood vents but on all non-magnetic vents such as plastic, aluminum and painted vents and registers. The adhesive on the extra magnetic strip will not harm your wood floor’s finish, as proven by years of testing.
4. Quieter Living Spaces: Reduces noise transmission between rooms as the EcoSail closes off vents when airflow stops. Really cuts noise level when used on both the vents in a noisy room and a room like a bedroom where someone is trying to sleep.
5. Keeps Vents & Ductwork Clean: Protects your ductwork from dirt, kitty litter, pet hair and prevents small items like rings from falling thru the vent into the ductwork.
6. Safe & Durable Design: The “Sail” of the EcoSail is a laser-cut fabric which is strong yet flexible. It’s also laser-cut to prevent fraying of the EcoSail’s edges. In addition, its low-profile design minimizes tripping hazards compared to bulky plastic deflectors.
7. Eco-Friendly Choice: The EcoSail uses significantly (about 98%) less plastic than hard hard plastic deflectors, making it a more eco-friendly option and less likely to end up in a landfill since unlike traditional hard plastic deflectors, the EcoSail is unbreakable.
IMPORTANT: Before ordering PLEASE watch the video so you understand how the EcoSail works and then measure your vent’s ENTIRE vent face. MEDIUM SIZE covers 5.5" x 11.4" vent face. LARGE SIZE covers 5½" x 13½" vent face (please see pic for size dimensions). Not for use on ceilings.
