The sharpened section is sharper than the cold steel shovel and the serrated section can help saw through roots the cold steel doesn’t have a saw portion. That said the cold steel shovel feels more robust and field repairable than this shovel. A good shovel on its own but the cold steel is a better shovel for the price.

I like the design concept, but the handle needs fiberglass to stiffen it up. It's so soft I can bend it with my hands, trying to dig hard dirt or clay results in so much flex it feels like it'll break. I'll probably stick to the Glock digging tool, and throw this in one of my trucks as an emergency tool. The holster is ok, It has two small pockets for survival gear. I wish it was stronger, because the design is otherwise great for a camping/survival tool. It's not expensive, so you decide.
