Broke within one week
The shelf that hold the tools is made of cheap plastic and it broke within one week. It had less than 10 items on it at the time. It really it not a practical unit. It is not made for mounting on vertical 2 x 4 s. It is made for a flat surface.

Perfect for a weekend warrior
I'm not much a handyman. My level of competence is changing faucets, ceiling fans, hanging curtains and painting inside rooms. I don't own more tools than enough to complete those jobs. If I had more room in my garage I would purchase a heavy metal cabinet. But I don't, and this wall unit is perfect for my needs. I installed this an hour ago so I can't comment on longevity. It arrived with one of the hinges on the storage compartment cracked. That gets a star off. Everything else about this I really like. I have been using a toolbox that my parents gave me for Christmas all the way back to 1987. Yeah, I likely had a mullet when my hammer was shiny and new. But living out of that toolbox has become a pain and my screwdrivers always end up in places I'd never put them (my wife clearly has different ideas about where tools belong!).I hung this shelf system right next to the garage entry door. Easy access to the tools when I step into the garage. I put it right above a light switch and placed it so we'd easily be able to open our garage (the garage button is actually right in the middle of the unit, but set so the metal bars do not cover). Not ideal, but I really wanted this next to our door. Worked out great. It comes with screws meant to go into sheetrock/drywall only... not into studs. The storage box does need a little bit of muscle to pull out. I'm not sure I'd want to do this every single day. The wrench holder has doors on both sides that snap into place so nothing falls out. The top shelf is made of metal and with 150 pounds being the max limit I doubt I'll ever come close to that. My drill case sits up there and is the heaviest thing stored. I do own some other shelving units to store larger items (paint materials, yard items, tire inflator), but this does the trick for what would reside in a toolbox.I don't leave reviews for everything I buy, but wanted to counter the one star review left here. My criteria for whether a product is good or not is if I would buy it again. Definitely, yes! I did happen to get this on sale and that influences my feelings on it as well.*Updated October 17, 2013: One of the pieces holding the bottom shelf broke off with normal use (nothing heavier than it was made for). It's clearly a weak point in this otherwise good product. I ended up tying that area with thick string to hold it in place. Not ideal, but it works. Even with that issue I don't regret purchasing this.

One of the shelves on this unit may have a manufacturing flaw.
I love the idea of this item and I will make it work but just like the other two reviews one of the hanger points on the tool shelf module broke while I was installing it. The rest of the unit seems solid and I should be able to screw that shelf directly into the 2x4s so I don’t regret my purchase.
