Sharp but Weighty
Having been a Nikon man for many years, firstly with the D series cameras, I eventually upgraded to the Z6ii. As any photographer knows it is not the camera cost, but the replacing lenses from one fit to another, in my case F mount to Z. Initially I got the FTZ adapter to use my F lenses, and one of my favourites was the Tamron 150-600mm G2, but I have now replaced it with the Nikon Z 180-600mm. After using it for a few weeks I must say I am well impressed with the results, pin sharp images on both the Z6 and Z6ii. I particularly like the internal focusing so that the lens length remains the same, much better balance especially when hand-held. The only downside is it is a bit on the heavy side, but I can live with that. I have attached a few pics taken recently. Oh, and why on earth don't Nikon provide a Swiss ARCA compatible tripod collar with their lenses!

Thee Wildlife Lens
Nikon’s single greatest value lens beyond the standard S line combo kit. Superb glass. Value for money and top results and incredibly light weight for the size.

Indispensable
Anyone with a Nikon Z camera who is interested in wildlife photography will wonder how they ever coped without this lens. Not a bank breaker like so many powerful lenses.

Nikon z180-600 lens.
Unfortunately as soon as I received the lens I attached it to my Z8and turned the camera on. OMG there was a terrible noise coming from the lens . Vibration was so bad that the monitor was flickering. I tried it on my Z6ii and the same thing happened so it went straight back to Amazon.

Very heavy, slightly soft
It’s heavier than I thought, can’t really shoot without monopod. Seems soft at all apertures and focal lengths a bit

A near-perfect telephoto lens for Nikon Z-mount cameras. The 180–600mm zoom range offers excellent versatility for wildlife and bird photography, and with the right settings the images are consistently tack-sharp. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks with my Nikon Z6III and the results have been outstanding. The lens is slightly on the heavier side, so a monopod is recommended for longer sessions, but the handling remains well balanced. Compared to the Tamron 150–600mm, this lens is marginally heavier but delivers noticeably better image quality. The internal zoom design is a big plus—there are no extending parts, which helps with balance and dust resistance. Considering the price, it offers excellent value for money, especially since I picked it up for under ₹1.5 lakh during the Republic Day sale. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommended for serious and hobbyist wildlife and bird photographers.
