These lanterns are made very well and look good. As others have said, this is not intended for reading or to light up a room. They are an accent light and quite romantic. I dim them and the batteries last quite a long time - more than the 17 hrs mentioned. You will like them.

So I ordered one of these nifty things to use to read at night, because they've got this great yellow-ish light that's good for your eyes at night. I had to leave my apartment for about four weeks straight, but when I came back the original light seemed to stop working. I reached out to the seller and they promptly sent me a replacement that works wonderfully! I'm really enjoying the light; may buy more for gifts. Thank you!

I LOVED this!!!!It was beautiful and sturdy, I THOUGHT! On the 31st day, it simply stopped working. DEAD!I’ve tried to reach the manufacturer —- no chance!

Has a nice weight to it. Feels quality. Great design. It has 3 light settings. I wouldn’t use it for reading but a perfect ambient fixture that looks cool. I put it next to a vase of palm fronds so it casts a pattern on the wall.

The lamp was works for a small area. It does not project enough light. The lamp required an adapter plug to be purchased in order to charge the lamp. This lamp does not project the emergency flash as advertised

Purchased several at one time, had to return one that wasn’t working properly an now another one or two are not lasting the time promoted

These are very easy to use and work great as an accent lamp. They can get quite bright if needed, we enjoy them in a dimmer setting.

I bought this as a Christmas Gift. It stopped working within a couple of weeks. I returned it and got another one. It stopped working also. Love the lamp. I order more than this one lamp. The other lamps are working fine. ?????
