Pasta substitute
These noodles are a great replacement pasta for those who can't have regular pasta. There's not much flavor to them but we used them with red meat sauce (like spaghetti) so that was good for us. Easy to make, just bring a boil. Texture wasn't too gummy.

interesting
This review is for: GNTI Korean Rice Cake Sweet and Chewy Tteokbokki Korean Traditional Cuisine Snack DessertDisclaimer: I haven’t tried other types of these. I ordered them on a whim since my daughter is really into Korea and we thought they’d be fun to try.First, we tried these straight out of the package. They weren’t very sweet and they were fairly firm, not particularly chewy. They were ok, but I wouldn’t bother eating them, especially as a dessert/snack. Of course, we have typical “American” tastes and like our sugar, so you may have a different opinion. Then we tried putting them into soup/broth. They did get softer but didn’t really seem to absorb any of the soup flavor. They were ok in soup as well. Another thing to note: after opening the first package, we left them on the counter in a ziplock bag. They molded very quickly. We were surprised by this. We put the second package in the fridge after we opened it & those lasted longer. This isn’t particularly a flaw, but it’s something to be aware of. These seem to be well made so you could definitely give them a try if it's something you are interested in.

Rice Cakes are good quality. Not meant to be eaten out of the bag, must be cooked and seasoned.
I was disappointed that these rice cakes came without directions. Not because I don't know how to prepare them, but because I'm sure there will be customers who will need directions to enjoy them properly. The most common way to eat these is as tteokbokki, which is rice cakes and with a spicy sauce. There's a simple recipe for this in the listing. I used them in rabokki, which is basically tteokbokki with the addition of ramen. They were delicious.Out of the package, rinse them, then cook them in boiling water. These are fresh rice cakes so they don't need to be boiled for long. About 5 minutes to be al dente but longer if you prefer them softer.Rice cakes take on the flavor of whatever sauce you prepare them with. They aren't meant to be eaten unseasoned. They also aren't shelf stable, you'll want to refrigerate them, or if you want them to keep for longer freeze them. These are nice quality rice cakes. I really enjoyed them.

This rice sticks are expensive and test less, and the worst quality sticks I ever had.

Nutritional information not incuded
Review for: GNTI Korean Rice Cake Sweet and Chewy Tteokbokki Korean Traditional Cuisine Snack DessertI used some of the rice cakes to make honey crisps and they turned out wonderful, a bit crisp and a bit sweet. They only took about 5 minutes to make and were delicious. The cakes were nice and chewy. My next use of these will be tteokbokki. There is a rather vague recipe on the product page for that and it is a favorite in my house even though we have never made it from scratch.I was disappointed to see that there was no nutritional information included on the packaging for this product. There were no instructions on basic cooking either.

Nice chewy texture like boba
This was my first time making Korean rice cakes and I had no idea how to make it! There were no instructions on the packaging, no branding, no nutrition facts, or even ingredients list! I'm surprised these were allowed to be sold in the US.It took a bit of time to figure out how to soften the Korean rice cakes since they were hard. From my research, I soaked these in hot water for 20 minutes and then drained and cooked briefly in some sauce. The texture came out wonderful, QQ and bouncy like boba. They don't have much of a flavor by itself. Since my wife does not each spicy, we did not make them the traditional way with a tteokbokki recipe. We cooked some tomatoes with finely diced carrots and zucchini and it turned out very nice! Using one bag out of the two was enough food for dinner for 2 people.

Great in Hot Pot
We do at home Hot Pot often. We normally buy frozen rice cakes but decided to give these a try. Once cooked in the broth for a few minutes, the texture was great and held flavor well. It was a good amount of rice cakes. Will definitely order again!

Exactly as pictured (and no more)
Usually it’s nice when something comes exactly as pictured, but in this case I was hoping there’d be a little more information on the back of the bag. Nope. It’s just two pouches of rice cakes. I couldn’t find any preparation instructions, ingredient list, or nutrition information. I looked up recipes online, but some recommend soaking the rice cakes first, while others don’t. A little more information would have been a big help! The rice cakes do cook quickly and come out nice and soft, chewy but not mushy.
