Classic Science Fiction With Great Story-Telling!
I’m reviewing the SHOW, not the price. And this is a fabulous classic-style science fiction feast. The 8 episodes total about 300 minutes of unadulterated fun. You do not necessarily need to be Star Wars fan to enjoy it, either, because the story telling is so good. I gave a set to my brother and sister-in-law. The latter couldn’t care less about Star Wars. But she started watching “The Mandalorian” and was hooked!I’d also like to mention the packaging, which is superb. The metal case is classy and secure. Best of all, the two discs DO NOT TOUCH EADH OTHER! I’ve enclosed a picture. Oh, how I wish all my bluray sets were made this well.Audio options include English Descriptive Audio, French and Spanish. Subtitles include English for the Hearing Impaired, French and Spanish. To top it off, this bluray set includes 2 short bonus features which I recommend:….A….”Remnants of the Empire” (6 minutes) Filmed in 2023. Commentators include Jon Favreau (exec. producer/creator/writer), Dave Filoni (exec. producer/director/writer), Rick Famuyiwa (writer/director), Doug Chiang (design supervisor/co-producer), Andrew Jones (production designer), and Josh Roth (property master), Richard Bluff (visual effects supervisor). The look of the Mandalorian universe has to match the look of the first three released movies, because it occurs right after them, shortly after the Empire was defeated. Roth tells us, “As a fan, but also as a prop master, I did the research to try to figure out how did they [in the first 3 released movies] create some of those iconic blasters They rented surplus weapons from World War II and modified them!”….B….”Forging the Covert: Part One” (18 minutes) Additional commentators include Hal Hickel (animation supervisor), John Rosengrant (Legacy effects supervisor/puppeteer), Tamara Carlson Woodard (special costumes manufacturer/puppeteer), Scott Patton (puppeteer), Peter Clarke (puppeteer), Jason Matthews (puppeteer), Trevor Hensley (puppeteer), John Knoll (ILM visual effects supervisor), and John Goodson (digital artist/model maker).Dave Filori says that in the early concept stage, “I just drew Boba Fett when I wanted to draw a Mandalorian.” Then they worked to make the new Mando different from the old Mando. Such as he gets a pulse rifle (technically an Amban phase rifle), a vibroblade (knife that vibrates), little bombs, and a longer cape! This bonus includes information on creation of Grogu (both puppets and digital) and design of the spaceships. And you’ll notice it’s titled “Part One”. This makes me think Disney will also release Season 2 on bluray, with it’s own bonus features.Great viewing!Happy Reader

A Great Addition to the “Star Wars” Galaxy!
“The Mandalorian: The Complete First Season” collects the first 8 episodes of the series that helped broaden the “Star Wars” galaxy. The story begins five years after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and focuses on Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, Lateef Crowder, Brendan Wayne), a Mandalorian bounty hunter. He accepts a job for Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), leader of a faction from of the Imperial Remnant. The job is to collect a 50-year-old being, which turns out to be a Force-sensitive child that Gideon wants for his experiments. The Mandalorian realizes that this isn’t a righteous job and breaks the rules of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. In doing so, he follows the code of the Mandalore as taught to him by the armorer (Emily Swallow) and the rest of his clan. Going rogue, he seeks out a safe port – encountering Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) on a familiar planet – and eventually looks to Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) for assistance in liberating Nevarro from Gideon and freeing the child. This Steelbook set is a great way for fans to bring this series to their home video collection. Bonus features include an examination of the Imperial Remnant as well as a look at production design from Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and more. It also includes exclusive art cards.

Love the Mandalorian, authentic!!
I'm glad this is on blu-ray. I don't really care for the tin and I wish for a cheaper option for those that don't really care to "collect" these more of just to enjoy the tv series.I did buy a tv series but it ended up being a bootlegged edition, and I was able to return it and than I got into starwars.com and found the direct link to this item on their website.I'm glad I have it for my collection. I'm not a huge star wars fan. I grew up with movies 4-6 and later 1-3 came out and so on and so forth and none of the other movies grabbed my attention and just found them whinny and annoying.I give that background because I enjoy Mandalorian, but it seems really hardcore fans of star wars hates it. Weird, but I don't care. I like baby Yoda

The Star Wars physical media drought is over
For a while, Disney stopped producing physical media. I am happy that fans can buy physical copies. With respect to The Mandalorian Season 1, it honors 1970s Lone Wolf and Cub and 1960 Sergio Leone westerns. Because the central character wears a helmet, if the central character squints before blasters are drawn, we will never know.

I love physical media
I love having a physical copy of my media I love. On top of that we get a steelbook as well.Mandalorian is one of the best Star Wars titles to come out in recent memory and I love that they decided to put out a physical copy for everyone. Now I can enjoy it with our without a stable internet connection.Having a Blu-ray works amazing on camping trips in the RV. Just pop it into the player and we can watch some Star Wars before bed!
