7 Steps to Pain-Free Sex: A Complete Self-Help Guide to Overcome Vaginismus, Dyspareunia, Vulvodynia & Other Penetration Disorders

Clear and informative.
Very useful self help guide if you prefer not to see a physio for these sensitive problems (or can't afford one). You may feel it is not working at first, or aggravates the problem, but stick with it and you will, like I did, hopefully benefit from it.

Good for women with vaginismus which has a psychological cause
Personally I was disappointed with this book as the treatment plan it lays out is far more suitable for women whose vaginismus is psychological in cause i.e. resulting from anxiety, stress, fear etc. However, if you suffer from a hypertonic pelvic floor due to underlying physical problems such as having tight or shortened muscles and trigger points in your muscle tissues, the treatment plan laid out in Heather Jeffcoat's book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K7IH67U/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_64 will probably be more useful to you. Good luck!

Waste of money and time
Very poor quality, with unfinished sentences and incomplete figures. The worst part is the description of the exercises, which is totally unclear, missing steps and using vague terminology ("contract your bones" really?)Asked several female friends to try the exercises, but nobody could make out what the author is talking about. When I started getting back pain I threw it away

Not too clear
First 30 pages or so were informative, after that it was a little 'all over the place' didn't quite understand what to do when it came to the exercising part(s).

Helpful..
Bought for a friend where Amazon doesn't ship and she told me the book helped her a lot. Her English is not so good but she still could understand everything explained there.

Instructions for exercises can be difficult to follow
Considering that this book is supposed to be a practical guide to overcoming vaginismus by using "empowering exercises", I often found the instructions for carrying out the exercises confusing and hard to understand. For example: "Let your breath flow towards the iliac crest". What exactly is the "iliac crest"?? (I had to Google this term as it was introduced in the book without explanation). And what does it mean to get your breath to "flow towards" it given that, as I discovered, the iliac crest is part of the pelvis and in no way related to the respiratory system. The book also has a self-congratulatory tone at times, which I found a bit annoying. I'm prepared to accept that the techniques may indeed be great, in a situation where you are receiving face-to-face instruction and can ask questions to clarify when you don't understand the explanation, but if you are totally reliant on only the written instructions in the book, it was hard going.
