Can you wear shoes when using this product?

My son does sometimes (he is about 40 lbs). I have never worn my shoes while jumping but I do not think it would be a problem.

How tall from floor to top of trampoline itself (not handrail) ?

The trampoline measures 8 and 3/4" from the floor to the surface of the trampoline, not including the handrail. It is very sturdy but less portable than I would like.
