Duck 1163221 Indoor Shrink Film Insulation Kit Insultation, Clear, 10 Windows

I have 11 single pane windows which as well as letting out heat , have a lot of condensation on them in the morning . I decided window insulation would probably be helpful . I was a bit dubious of which brand to try , however I settled on duck . The first window I tried was easy to do , the tape stuck well and was easy to place , however I hadn’t checked the length of my windows properly and the film was too short 😡 I didn’t want to bother doing it again so I added a bit to the bottom 🤣 probably not ideal but still does the job . For the remaining windows I put the film on sideways which was a bit more fiddly but still easy to do . The shrinkage with the hairdryer is perfect , although be careful as I got to close to one window and burnt a hole in the film. Even with my two mishaps (my fault not the fault of the product ) it is doing , what I hoped it would . The film has been up two weeks , has reduced condensation and increased the warmth in the room . Overall easy to place ( really easy if you’re windows are less than 5ft) Photo shows one window with the film on compared with the adjacent window without it .

Bit of an ordeal getting it up on my own on such a big window but once I sussed a method managed it in about half an hour. What worked for me was applying the tape across the top and fixing that, then down each side and finally the bottom. I cut the sheet to approximate size then just stuck it up and trimmed it leaving plenty of excess just in case. I didn’t bother with the hair dryer because it was fairly tight and I couldn’t care less about a few wrinkles or creases. This may have been wise because the air behind it expands and contracts with the temperature so maybe being too tight would cause ruptures. All in all if you can get it on the windows ok it’s works brilliantly and the tape provided is excellent, bit fiddly getting the backing off once stuck to the window though so try to leave a bit sticking out at the end to grab when you cut it to length.

I have just moved house and have discovered a terrible window that needs replacing. Every morning we wake up to full condensation and a puddle on the windowsill. Bought this to try and help, and it definitely has. Still get condensation, but no where near as much. Haven’t had it long enough to test in true cold weather (reviewed in November after 1/2 months), but for now it is helping. Only issue is the tape that was supplied was truly awful and didn’t stick anywhere, even after cleaning the surfaces thoroughly. Luckily we had our own double sided tape that has done the job.

Can been a little fiddle at first, if you unfold ruffle cut to the size you need.. Work wonders ✨️

I find the product super effective but not worth the price tag... you can find other cheaper alternatives for the same quality.

This is the first window that I have used this product on and the result is so clear plus the tape is easy to peel. I would recommend removing any tools that you might need before applying as my scissors are now a modern art installation behind plastic until Spring - oops! Seriously though, I had a long cardboard tube that I used to roll the film around and used this to help control and apply the film as I rolled it down the window, ensuring it was properly adhered. I would recommend using this technique. Four more windows to go and only one pair of scissors left! Will put up another review in a few weeks to see how effective it has been against cold and draughts.

Bought for my patio door but the downside was that there was not enough tape (It's a double door with 2 side panels which had to be done individually so doors could be opened) Thankfully I'd bought the window kit too so was able to complete. Once I'd gotten the hang of it, I found it quite easy to attach it. It was easier once I realised that a little bit of slack would disappear once the heat (from a hairdryer) was applied and that using a Stanley knife rather than scissors for trimming the excess. Whether it is effective ..... only time will tell but I am hoping that it is.

I have used window shrink film for years on my windows and have never had issues. The tape of this product is not sticky enough. As I applied it to my window I realised the quality was not as good as other brands. I gave them the benefit of the doubt nevertheless and applied the film and used the blow drier to shrink the film. The tape came undone all along the bottom. I am returning this item and never ordering this brand again.

The product arrived earlier than expected and does the job. A bit fiddly so make sure you read instructions and view videos before you start.

Super clear finish. Went on as well as these things can. Does the job, no air coming through and it looks like it’s not even there. And it’s cheap so just buy it.

This is my first time using something like this but this window sealing kit has been great at sealing out the cold from our house! We have an older 70's house that still has the original windows (single-double pane, no insulation). Which is a killer on our heating bill here in Canada until we can switch out all the windows for newer ones. This sealing kit was super easy to install and is barely noticeable (the only noticeable part being on the window frame if you squint). Drastically could feel and see the difference it made to sealing in our heat! Even going as far as keeping our house from overheating too badly from the sun during hotter temperatures. Overall, would recommend!
