Bablabear Dark Brown Hair Color Shampoo for Gray Hair 500ML Instant Hair Dye Shampoo for Men & Women-3 in 1 Color Shampoo

Reference: Used Black, on dark brown and gray hair. I was not sure this product would work, but it delivered. Most of my gray was over ears, left and right of center, and at the top of the head. Reviews here were mixed, but I have never dyed my own hair. With that in mind, I was looking for something easy! This dye only requires shampooing, so I bought it! With hesitation and a little anxiety, I read the direction, and started the process. On dry hair, I applied the clear and light brown shampoo from the bottle, but the bottle is made a little different (large housing on top for duel pumps). Since the shampoo wasn’t a color I expected, and I didn’t realize the extra bulky top was dual pumps, I stopped to Google the application process just to be sure. Of course, the bottle was performing as it should, and I was on the right track! Once the mixture was fully applied and lathered—with special attention to the finer hair along my hairline and over the ears, I put on the one of the extra large (for long hair) plastic caps which were provided with they dye. I checked for inadvertent dye tattooing and clean things up about halfway through the prescribed dying time. The box instructions recommend 20-25min, and 30min for next session if dye coverage is incomplete. I had full coverage, so I rinsed at 25min. Conditioned after thorough rinsing, and the color is amazing. It is slightly darker than my natural blackish-brown, but the gray hairs are no where to be found! NOTES: 1. The box does not say it, but you should rub your hands together to mix the shampoo and dye before putting it on your hair for even application. 2. You only receive two pairs of gloves and two plastic caps with the shampoo, so you will need more for future uses. 3. I would not apply this shampoo to disturbed scalp. I dyed my hair after taking down a crocheted style. If you recently scratched your head, or deep cleansed your scalp, this product might burn a little. It is listed as a natural hair dye, but there are chemicals on the label as well. I mention this because I had a spot that seemed to burn/tingle after application. It wasn’t bad, and there are no noticeable burns when I rinsed it. However, past perm users will know exactly what I mean here. The sensation did not intensify, but it was there. In my before photo (forgot to do it immediately prior to dying), I was covering my gray hairline with touch-up color products and a headband. However, the after photo had to be taken because I was so impressed. Not a single gray hair in sight! Good luck covering your gray! Highly recommend! 💜

This product is easy to use and works as described. However, it irritated my husband's skin when he applied it to his beard, causing itching. We discovered it on TikTok, and it worked great for me without any irritation. I'm not sure why there was a difference in our experiences.

I’ve been coloring my hair for decades, the last being from a delivery salon that caters to your color etc. & my color is dk brown & it was pretty ok, the color was close enough. Here’s my take on Bablabear. The large bottle contains 2 separate inner bottles that hold the color & developer, and pumps out together, you use “enough” to lather your hair. I have bum length hair but I only used 5 pumps to lather my entire scalp, targeting my grays. When rinsing, residual color WILL tinge the rest of my length. I ordered the dk brown, waited 20 mins & rinsed it out, then used a1min miracle conditioner. It looked & felt great. I am so pleased with the color, a true brown, not a black brown just a rich dk brown. I’m so gobsmacked that this is the color I’ve been trying to achieve for forever and Bablabear did that. The only unpleasant thing is the smell. It’s not good lol but my conditioner masked it pretty well, and it will be just fine after a real wash. This is my pro home colorist advice. Be mindful after pumping it into your hand. It’s not thick like a shampoo & you can’t just flip your hand onto your head without it sliding right off your glove. It’s slimey ok. Nature of the beast. Pump into your hand, finger swirl a bit, then apply it, massage to lather, pump some more, swirl, add to lather & you get a pretty good idea of how much of this product it takes to lather your hair. With store bought products & salon del, I would leave it on a minimum of 30 mins up to an hour bc my grays are stubborn. I listened to what reviewers & Bablabear said. Stop at the minimum time, 20 mins & if that doesn’t achieve what you’re looking for, add 10 mins next time. Mine came out just how I wanted & the best part ??!! It didn’t leave my scalp with a weird color tinge. BONUS ! Bablabear provides a couple pairs of gloves and an over the head clear poncho, very thoughtful that one. The poncho wasn’t great for me, but if you clip it to your shirt it shouldn’t be a hindrance for you. I have a dedicated button up shirt that does the trick as my poncho. My suggestion for skin staining is take a cotton swab w a THIN amount of vaseline & run it around the perimeter of your hairline, about 1/2 inch. I did get it on my ears but it washed right off. I think some users didn’t wipe off the excess in quick enough time, thus leaving a bit of staining on the face. After you’re done lathering, just take a dedicated damp washcloth on your finger and tidy up your face. I hope this was helpful.
