The headgear has good stability. The strap is very secure when adjusted properly. It is very lightweight. For the price point, this headgear is very good. It is very useful for boxing, kickboxing, as well as MMA. My favorite feature of this headgear is the chin guard. I would highly recommend this product to anyone trying to find a solid beginner item for their protection. I ordered the small/medium.

The headgear looks a little bulky on a 9 year old, but adjusts remarkably well and fits properly once adjusted. The weight is good and it is comfortable to wear with no chafing, etc. He has gotten kicked in the face, punched and whatnot, still has all his teeth, nose is intact and his brain still works as well as can be expected. ;) Just take your time adjusting and readjusting so it sits well.Plus, it looks cool. I can pick him out of the crowd because of the bright color ( we got the yellow/ black)
