Jamie Hewlett

Jamie Hewlett is one of my stronger artistic influences and I own many of his recent Tank Girl books/collections. I was worried there would be repeats of content I'd already seen in here, but upon opening the book I immediately disregarded that as a possible problem. This book if one of the nicer artbooks in my collection and an unexpected delight. There are multiple fold-out pages and pages printed on acrylic to reveal inkwork over pencils and just an attention to detail that I wasn't expecting, but am thrilled is found here. It nicely covers his work from early Tank Girl to projects that haven't received much attention in the US, concepts for projects and a nice collection of Gorillaz pieces. Lord help me if I ever have to pare down my dozens of art books into a select few, but this one is definitely on the short list and must-have for any fan of Hewlett's art.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, and she was over the moon. The book is expensive, but it is a huge hard cover with thick, glossy paper (including some vellum pages), like you would expect in a quality art book. A real collector's piece for a Jamie Hewlett and/or Gorillaz fan.I'm not a fake profile, nor have I been compensated for any reviews...in fact, the reason I take the time to review purchases when I can is due to the fact that I find other honest reviews helpful and am tired of all the fake reviews that have polluted this site. I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend, who is a HUGE fan of Hewlett, Gorillaz, and Tank Girl. He. Flipped. Out.It's a massive, cover to cover, beautifully printed... experience, really.If you're a fan of Gorillaz, Hewlett, or any of his works, I highly recommend this book. 10/10. Would totally purchase again.My only regret? Not buying it sooner lol.

One of the few books I've bought in a while that I felt like I actually got MORE than what I paid for! This book is HUGE with LOTS of content! If you're a fan of Jamie Hewlett this book is a MUST! Love it!!!

I was introduced to this book from watching the review by Ed Piskor and Jim Rugg on YouTube. This book goes beyond Tank Girl (and Gorillaz)and looks at the other projects that Mr. Hewlett has done. He has been busy the last 25 years showing evolution of his line work. It’s moving in the chapter Bangladesh, beautiful in Monkey Journey to the West, and crisp lines in Pine Trees. If your a big Tank Girl fan there isn’t much here unfortunately, with a larger emphasis on Gorillaz instead. I’m not a fan of the band but the art is Hewlett. If you enjoy Hewlett’s comix art you enjoy this deeper look into his work. Thanks for the review Cartoonist Kayfabe or I would have known this existed.

Pre-ordered this book 6 months ago and it was worth the wait and the money. This is a beast of a book full of amazing comics pages, illustrations and narratives from Jamie. Highly recommended.

Book is pretty thick and chocked full of beautiful artwork from Hewlett. Definitely worth the pick up!

this is a HUGE book and filled with tonnes and tonnes of images. Any Hewlett fan will take their time and process each bit (as it is in sections of artwork). When you get to the section of his work that resonates with you more than the rest, it is very exciting and the quality of the print is pretty sublime. Like most things he does, this is definitely a collectible in that style of art which he has which seems like punk rock/ electric art with a touch of MAD - I liked it and it pleases me to see it so prominently visible on the shelf...being so frigging bright red and all.

Loved Jamie Hewlett work from when I was a Kid and first saw Tank Girl. Filled with visual surprises and so much information and insights this will please any fan of illustration, design and art. Great buy and the price is so low! So happy to have this on my shelf. Constantly asked to get it down by the kids. Beware though, some of the content won't be suitable for children.

I was blown away by this book, the size of it in general was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and consisted of some incredible artwork by Jamie Hewlett as well as a few interviews with him. This is defiantly a perfect gift for anyone who is a fan of Jamie, Tank Girl or Gorillaz as it contains drawings of all of those and more. Well worth the price.

I got this as a present for my brother as he loves Gorillaz and Jamie Hewlett, and he said it was the best present he's ever received. It's a very big thick book with loads of art from everything he's done, beautiful and lots of descriptions. It is in various languages as well (I think English and Dutch)

Bought for Son who is a gorillaz fan studying Art . He is very very happy with it. Goes well with his other "art of" hardcover books. Book has everything from basic doodles to full on character action scenes to stylised photos.

This book is packed with Hewlett’s incredible work. If you’re a fan of his illustrations, Gorillaz or art and design in general this book is perfect. I bought this for my boyfriend and we looked through it for hours. A really gorgeous beautiful book, the quality of print is brilliant and every page is filled with beautiful art. I recommend to all who is slightly interested. If you’re debating it, go for it, it was worth every penny for me.
