One of the greatest Shonen!
Claymore is another Shonen - a little like AOT and Death Note - where it doesn't feel like Shonen, and that absolutely works!I'm writing this review after finishing Claymore and- wow, stick with it! The art evolves over time like the story, and the characters are great. Clare's relationships with those around her are wonderful and some of the characters later on truly deserve more love, the villains and heroes, side-characters and world around them are so complex, it's a feast not just for the eyes but the mind as well!An absolutely underrated gem that you should read if you're a fan of manga as a whole!

A New story that is as action pacted as bleach and as long living as naruto
Without a doubt one of the most original manga stories out there. Actionpacked, fun, and adventerous, claymore just grips you and won't let go, its as intense as bleach was in the first series and as long lasting and fresh as naruto. This series has already made a tv viewing in japan and is set to be big if picked up. The manga is already 4th in Japan and 10th in America. If you dont want to take a risk and want a story that draws you in but also has dark and light sides, then this is for you

She who fights monsters...
As this review is being copied across Volumes One, Two and Three of the Claymore manga series, I will review all three volumes in one.Volume One:When a man-eating monster known as a Yoma starts to pray on the inhabitancies of a small village, the village elder is forced to hire the only known people who can fight the demon and win, a Claymore. These silver-eyed warrior women are specially created to fight the Yoma and have far greater strength and speed than any normal human but at the cost of some of their humanity.Volume Two:A Yoma is hunting within the cathedral of the holy city of Rabona but by law nothing evil is allowed to enter the city, including Claymores. As such Clare and her new friend Raki must go undercover to complete the mission and must deal with both the Yuma and the cities elite guards as well.Volume Three:The third volume of Claymore finishes off the storyline from the previous volume with the Clare battling the Yoma in Rabona cathedral. Once this story is finished with the volume goes on to tell the story of Teresa of the Faint Smile, the most powerful of the Claymores as she hunts Yoma and encounters a girl who won't stop following her.So far Claymore is becoming a very good series that has some nice and somewhat gory action, and an intriguing setting. The plot and dialogue of all three volumes are well written, and are more than adequately keeping your interest. The only real problem I have with the series is the artwork which, although good in its own way, isn't as good as some other manga that I have read but that is not to say that it is bad. The series does show some promise however and I do feel that it does have potential to become one of my favourite manga. Overall I think these volumes are well worth between four and four and a half stars, and it still has the potential to improve.
