Product Of The Street: Union City Book 1

I enjoy EB books. I kept seeing this mentioned on TikTok so I had to put it up n my TBR file. This book is fast paced and there are a lot of characters. More than half way through the book and I still had to stop and think about who was who. However that didn’t deter me. This book is less of a love story and more of addiction-love! There’s a lot of fighting, killing, and some torture. To be away from your town and your mother for 6 years and then return at full speed was a lot. I wish EB would’ve given a bit more background info on the main characters, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the story.

I laughed, shook my head and I screamed. I am questioning my morals because HOW AM I YELLING AT THE BOOK TO DO IT!!! This urban fiction had me so locked in I added to my kindle lock screens collection on canva. I added 2 more book boyfriends! This woman knows how to tell a story and captivate! I am going to get books 2-5 as soon as I can! Because that cliffhanger though! The build up was goodt! If you need that unhinged drama this is it!

I love the book . I do think the book needed a little bit of organization it was kind of everywhere but I did love the characters .

Let me tell you how upset I am with self for taking so long to read this! New to this author. Everyone told me I wasn’t ready and to be ready to take this ride! When I say after reading Book 1, I have to say I’m here for it and the start of this ride has my heart beating fast! First and foremost the men in this here read Hendrix (Henny), Lennox (Oz), Link and Faxx is about that life as well as very educated! They ALL stand on business, ten toes down! The way they know how to turn the street life off when needed to address real life! But the thought process - it’s different Lol!!! Let me just say, I don’t want to go to their clinic!!! Only thing missing was their woman. The fact the were able to get a second chance after 6 year and so far it’s been interesting, I’m thinking there can be a chance-but time will tell! The ladies- Shandea, Talia and Crescent! Even though Dea and Talia are sisters, the instance connection with Crescent was like they been friends for ever. I was able to relate with Dea and Talia about needing to get out of Union City, that’s how I was when leaving the only place I knew! Just needed to go. But when needed they needed to return, not happy about it but had to be there for their mom. The secrets they found out had me speechless! However, the men they reconnected with after six years had my girls actioning out-lol!!! The way the chemistry was with them especially in adult activity will have to reevaluating your own-🫣. Now Crescent she may be young but she knows what she wants in life and babygirl has NO FILTER at all. The way she tries to filter her response when someone comes for her and me in tears! One thing I do know, that 20th birthday will be one she will NEVER forget cause babe, that night was one for the books. Not only that, that was the night she may have met her knight and shiny armor-lol. She and Faxx may have a connection. A lot is going on in this here read messiness with cousins (Yasmin & Katrice, brother (Xavier) and friends (Jakobe). The amount lies, secrets and betrayal in this here read was off the chart and’s let’s not forget the disloyalty that was displayed. Definitely heading to that Book 2 and all others by this author!

I read in a review that Ms. Ebony normally writes paranormal romance and that this is her first urban romance book. When I say she knocked it out of the ballpark. Man sis put her foot in it when she created this. Soo good she got me skipping on my way to slap my mama. With that being said, this book ain’t for the faint of heart. Please check the trigger warnings⚠️, cause they cum deep and hard in this book. If you have any type of cardiovascular problems, this may not be the book for you. 5 Reasons off rip to read this book. 1. Hendrix (Henny) 2. Lennox (Oz) 3. Faxx 4. Link 5. Sanchez These men are somewhat psychotic but they love hard and will stand ten toes down for their UCK crew and the people they love. Young, black and educated and from a very young age they’re all about giving back and building up their community to make it a better place to live. Their methods are unconventional but get the job done. 3 more reasons to read this book. 1. Shandea (Dea) 2. Tali 3. Crescent (Cent) Dea and Tali, also young, black and educated have plans to get out of Union City as soon as Tali graduates and to never return. With plans to celebrate on their last night before leaving, Dea introduces Tali to Oz, Henny and the some of the UCK Crew. The events that take place will forever change their lives. When I say these women are confident and comfortable with themselves and their bodies. I’ve never been too much into kink/fetish but these two have me imagining myself in very new and different situations. Brace yourself because they’re on GO from the very beginning 🥵🥵🥵. The sisters leave as planned but have to return when their mother falls ill. Dea has kept in contact with Oz over the six years she’s been gone but as a friend. When the two return they fall right back into the things and people they were running from. Cent appears a little later on as a very funny and trustworthy coworker and friend to the two sisters. This has become one of my favorite reads for 2023 and I can’t wait to get into book two.

Ok, so I enjoyed the plot of the book, it’s a great urban read but what I hate is the cliffhangers that make you have to read the next one which is where I’m at with this…now I feel like the skittles guy “gotta see it through my boy!” Anyway, as I said the plot of the book is good, plenty of spice. I will say whomever the editor was they really didn’t thoroughly read the works because there were lots of things (words/ phrases and bits of the story jumped) left out. In those instances I made my own stuff up…which was kind of easy to do depending on the scenes. Now, would I recommend someone read it, eeehh, if you’re bored/nosey sure why not, but it wouldn’t be my first recommendation.

I found out about this book through TikTok. So many raved about it, so I gave it a shot. I haven’t been a fan of urban books that I’ve come across lately because they are too cliche. But I decided to give this book a chance. I took me a while to get into it due to the verbiage. It I fell into rhythm pretty quickly. This book contains so many peoples POV, I got whiplash trying to follow along. But it all came together. Let me just say Each of the Four Horsemen are clinically undoubtably INSANE!!! But I still love them. Something must be wrong with me because a lot of the insanity scenes I found quite romantic. No need to answer that - I know something is seriously wrong with my mental for that statement. Hendrix, Lennox, Flexx, and Link - they all compliment and complete each other. From crazy to certifiably, thick Manila folder documented INSANE. YET it works!, and I’m loving each of them for it. Dea and Tali - those are my sisters. Ivan see myself being besties with them. All of the supporting characters roles were very strong and fit perfectly within the storyline. To say I’m looking forward to reading book 2 is a major understatement. I would be on it now but I paused to give this review. Now that it’s done —— on to reading book 2 ✌️
