An Herbalist/& Devotee Must Have
The media could not be loaded. Great reference book and worth every penny. It gives the ewe/ herb/ fruit/ etc picture , scientific name, Spanish name , English name, Lucumi name , the Orisha & Odu it’s related to. It also gives the uses and medicinal uses of each if applicable. It’s also has spiritual baths in the back plus a quick reference of the Orisha herbs. I had to buy it 2x because my friend used it, loved it, borrowed it for a long time , so it’s now gifted to her. Here some cool pics.

Practical information
Ewe Osain is a very good book that gives its readers a better understanding of one of the most important Orishas in the Lucumi religion. It provides the rudimentary aspects of Osain and what is needed to prepare an omiero (bath). The book is written succinctly by providing the importance of each Ewe (herb) and the significance of its use. Each Orisha has its own particular ewe and the book provides its importance when preparing a ceremony of Osain. Most importantly, the photos of each ewe are impeccably sized to assist you on how to recognize the herb.In addition, the writing is colloquial in describing all of the herbs and provides a little history of the religion with Osain. The book has given me a better understanding of the importance of Osain and the patakis associated with each Orisha. One of the sayings that you say in the ceremony is `kuelesse kan kuelese meyi' and I learned the meaning of it. Moreover, the book contains Orins (prayers) that are chanted when making the omiero and I like that it gives the the Odun within the Ifa religion for the babalawo.I recommend this book with no reservations as it is an important reference book when learning the ewes of Osain and praying to him. ¡Aché Osain ,moguayé!Awo ni orunmila osarete

I wish I could give this ten stars
so I read some of the reviews and yes if someone in ifa and is talking about doing negative things it can make you begin to worry about what information is in this book, but let's be technical about this book. Like life which is supposed to be a rich and positive life we always face different negative obstacles in life. This book has a vast of knowledge which a lot of Santeros keep to themselves and won't share. I myself before I have been crown Chango i studied herbs for six years and I am proficient in it. Reading this book has expanded my knowledge and I'm great full. Magerefun Chango, osain & oshun....A must have ppl. Worth e Rey penny

Great content, poor quality print and binding with a misprinted page 178
I was very happy to get the book. However, the print run is poor, the pages barely have glue to hold them. This book will not withstand reading and usage as the copy is flimsy. The quality of the illustrations is not great, some are blurry and the colors are not sharp. If you need to identify plants using these photos, you will have difficulties. For a book that costs $46.00, I am expecting not only good material but a well-produced book. Page #178 is not printed.

221 Sacred Plants - Great Book
Not only is there the scientific and common name, but there are instructions on how to grow. Did I forget to mention there are pictures of all of the plants?I am very excited about this book, and I already have so many books on Orisha plants, so that's saying a lot.Definitely worth the price!

Nice pictures. Lots of scientific info and great to ...
Nice pictures. Lots of scientific info and great to figure out the English translation of the plants. Doesn’t really include info like “this plant is best for x-y-z things.” But definitely goes into detail for omieros and small details for other uses; what plants are associated with certain saints, etc. Definitely feel that as a learning spiritualist or Santeria priest, this should be in your library.
