I'm pretty bad about watering plants, and I hate bugs. So I'd almost given up on growing herbs. But this is so easy to use, it's a pleasure. The unit is well made, easy to use, and has already paid for itself in herbs I didn't have to buy at the store (in just over 2 months). I'm growing mostly basil in mine, because I use a lot and can never find Holy basil and rarely find Thai basil at the store. I've already harvested enough to justify the cost of the unit, seeds, and the extra grow food I've purchased. After 3 month, have harvested so much I've lost track - Basil Salads, Pestos, and Thai Basil Chicken - all from one compact unit! I've also got thyme in mine, but that's a slow grower, so it's taking it's time, but doing well. The only issue is that sometimes the light timer gets confused. Mine has occasionally turned on too early and gotten off track. But it's easy to just turn it off and back on once to get it reset, and then it works again for weeks. Also, the tiny window to check for water level gets hard to read once there are roots all over the place, but that may be my problem because I've got it in a sunny window, so there's a lot of background light. I love the adjustability of the light height, so I can let my plants grow fairly tall, or keep them harvested at a shorter height. I bought a second unit for my daughter after she liked it on her visit, and she's loving hers as well. She's fairly picky about things looking nice, and she likes the unit very much, so it must appeal to younger adults as well as us old-timers. My neighbor saw it and purchased one as well (I'm a bit miffed that hers was half the price of mine for the same unit - wish I had waited for tha sale). She's growing Romaine in hers, and so far, it's going great. She's only using half of the grow slots to allow for larger plants. It's nice that there are plugs to close off the spots not being used. I have every slot in mine planted, but that makes it rather crowded. I'm hoping to purchase another unit in the future to save time and money getting herbs at the grocery store.

This thing is great! Easy to set up and works as advertised! Love that it's on a timer so I don't have to remember to turn on/off the lights. Motor is so quiet I had to take off the top to see if it was even on! Everything is high quality, the machine is beautiful and well made. The light doesn't slide up and down as easily as I'd like but now that I've had it a while I like that. It won't ever slip down or move if you bump it and I'm assuming it will last a long time. (Just pull it up right at/around the telescoping arm.) I was surprised how bright the light is, so I'm finding I'm using the lights in my kitchen less! Great instructions, quick guide is like a big greeting card on nice thick card stock. User manual is 17pgs of a nice coated paper and even has a spot for notes about your grow. I planted about a week and a half ago and I have 10 pods with plants! I did remove the stickers after they popped up because I plan to reuse them. Just my sage hasn't germinated yet but it says it can take 20days, so I'm hopeful they will sprout up soon! Comes with everything you need, only complaint is you only get 6 little stems for labels but there is a hole for one next to each pod, so I just used 1 per row, not a huge deal and once they get big I won't need them anyway! I purchased a 2nd one to grow some veggies since I'm keeping this one for just herbs! *updated to add pics a month later! I love using fresh herbs when cooking and my Lettuce is coming along nicely!

I bought this device for my husband who plants vegetables every Spring, but it quickly became my hobby. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from a major university and tried forty years ago to grow a vegetable garden strictly through Hydroponics. It was a disaster and I knew what I was doing. But this little gadget grows things from seed absolutely perfectly! In addition, my husband decided to plant his seeds the old-fashioned way to compare with Hydroponics and the Hydroponic method created hearty, healthy seedlings in a fraction of the time. And the ones I grew Hydroponically are already producing fruit, whereas his seems like it is at least a month behind. I was so excited by this that I have purchased larger grow lights for our back porch, where I will now try to grow a vegetable garden without worrying about pests (the squirrels, raccoons and rabbits think we grow everything just for them!), forgetting to water or inclement weather where plants are destroyed. I now have a permanent place on my kitchen counter for this beautifully designed gadget and have grown corn, large tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe and zucchini. After my latest batch of seedlings are ready to plant on the back porch, I will try my hand at growing kitchen herbs and lettuce. This is just such a fun and exciting tool that is simple and easy to do. This is a great gift for the person who has everything!

So far so good! We’re seeing sprouts and it’s easy to use. I would recommend this.

Excellent product. I am a first time "gardener" and the directions were so easy to follow. I was able to grow lettuce, tomatoes, scallions, basil, and thyme. The basil and tomatoes grew so well that I transplanted them to soil and hardened them for an outdoor garden.

This indoor garden is fantastic! The herbs grew quickly and healthily with minimal effort. It’s ideal for small spaces and beginners. Highly recommended!

The hydroponics garden is fantastic. It works really well. The explanations are very clear . I am having so much fun with my new garden. I actually bought a second one. The first one is a herb garden and the second one will be to start my seeds before planting them in the garden. I am extremely satisfied.

The shortest time is 16 hours, had to unplug every night so that it won't turn on in the middle of the night
