Etiquette Guide to Korea: Know the Rules that Make the Difference!

I purchased this book out of my love for Korean culture, in preparation for a trip I am planning to make later this year. The book not only manages to be condescending both towards the reader and towards Korean people, and has perhaps the worst romanizations I have ever seen: it doesn't actually teach you anything. It doesn't land anywhere. It presents Korean people as inscrutable, violent and difficult—and westerners as rational and composed. Imagine that.

This is a good first step for Westerns to East cultural. Korean cultural has many elements of Chinese and Japanese culture, and many of them are very similar. This book helped me a lot during my trip to Korea. As an employee of a Korean company, helped me also to understand the culture and values of ir. Worth each dollar paid

This book mainly deals with etiquette for conducting business in Korea. I was really looking for something for tourists. It does have some useful information, but not enough to purchase the book.

Surprised me at the obscene language, but some see it as humor. But the advice was right. Suggestions were correct as well.

I started reading it right after I got it. It is a good read so far. I read the book when ever I have free time on my hands.

There are some errors that probably should have been caught in editing, and the information seems a tad out of date. Otherwise, a very informative read.

This will be a gift for a friend who is about to move to Korea (her husband is in the Army) and it will be a great start to learning how to live in Korea. I flipped through the book and it seemed very informative, without being very dry. Great book!

I will give it three stars because I would have loved it to be more informative however I love De Mente's "Etiquette Guide To" as it's so much different from every other book... instead of setting up rules for you to follow this book explains "why" people in that country act a certain way. I wish there was more to read.

I needed an etiquette guide to help me on upcoming trips to Korea to visit my son and his Korean wife and her family. Although it is heavy on the business side, even reading about the business culture was insightful and gave me a better understanding of Korean culture.
