Q: Do you have to use a tumble dryer? For drying the coat?

Yes, Drying down is a difficult process, i would put the garment in a tumble dryer with "Dryer Balls" these are essential to break up the clumps of down inside your jacket. Thanks Colin Kitwizard.co.uk

Q: Where do you add the cap fulls? I’m the detergent draw where fabric softer would go or in the actual drum?

Hi there, I personally add the product to the drum as there is a residue of detergent in the draw. But if the draw is clean then you can put it in there. Ian

It looks like a bag but the 1 litre I ordered was a bottle. Perhaps different sources?

No, but the down should only smell weird while it is wet or damp. Cool tumble the jacket afterwards until properly dry and fluffy and it won’t smell.
