Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening Sticks, 20 Ounce, 3 Sticks

Back in 1956 or 1957, my father started teaching me to bake. As I didn't read yet, he taught me to tell all the white things apart by how they looked and smelled, starting with shortening. So I have a zillion times scraped shortening out of a measuring cup and hand-washed it later (because only rich people had dishwashers).No more! I just cut off the amount I need from one of these bars. No mess, no fuss. Each bar comes in a plastic container, sealed with mylar, and one hard plastic cover per trio pack, so you can keep the opened on in the fridge.I don't actually use much oil or fat outside of baking, so this doesn't need constant dispensing. Who greases pans since cooking parchment became common? So I don't count the cost versus the convenience of measuring or cleaning up after this when I make drop biscuits or chappaties.

Great for cookies

Crisco has always been the best shortening for fantastic pie crusts, frying, etc. Though I appreciate these sticks, I would love to see the 3 pound tub again and at a reasonable price.

I got this to make my old recipe Christmas cookies with. Many of the older recipes call for shortening, not butter or margarine, and it really makes a difference. Scooping from the can is always a mess and these come in stick form so you can slice off as much or as little as you need. The sticks have markings on them. It is a little pricey buying on Amazon but figuring gas to go out to the store, and the cold and the snow, we’ll, sometimes it’s more than worth it.

I love the crisco sticks! I use them for my cookie recipes and homemade frosting.

Packaging is good, three separate 1 cup (-)measures. Better than the larger can for us occasional bakers

Handy

Using the crisco shortening sticks is easy to use and store. There are measurements already on the packaging so need to use measuring cups. Works great in my gingersnap cookies or chocolate chip cookies.
