Quick Reviews!
I'm no fan of tennis, and am annually annoyed by the fact that it takes over terrestrial TV for the majority of the day for weeks at the start of the summer. Thank goodness for streaming, eh? On the flip side, my wife loves the 'sport', and was a youth champion, getting free passes to Wimbledon every year. As a loving, thoughtful husband, I thought this would be a nice gift for her, and I was right. While there isn't anything startling or new to gossip with your fellow tennis fans before your zoom meeting officially begins, it is a comprehensive account of the man's life and success up to this point, written in a flowing style, and without shying away from his controversy during the pandemic. Lists of his achievements, chapters on his early life, and plenty of glossy pictures should keep fans of the sport and the man happy.

Truly Inspiring for all Tennis Fans
I have been lucky to have seen Novak live at Queens, Wimbledon and at the ATP finals at the O2 in London so have followed his tennis career with great interest, so was super excited to be asked by NetGalley to review this biography. The book covers his childhood and playing tennis at 4 years old then going to tennis club and the effects of the Kosova war and the sacrifices his father made to get Novak into professional tennis. The author explores keys moments in Novaks life from his childhood, to his early tournament days Olympics, to getting married up to 2023 tennis season. The book is quite factual - this is not Novaks autobiography so the reader cannot delve into the person, but none the less this is a book for fans who have followed his career and may have watched Wimbledon for the first time in 2023.Good collection of photos which makes the book stand out even more.Recommended read.

Interesting little read
Flew through reading this book.Nice mixture of facts, stories and pictures.Plenty of commentary on the Djokovic-Nadal-Federer head to head stats and this is depicted in various interesting ways throughout the book along with many other stats on his achievements compared to his peers.Djokovic, based on the stats, is clearly one of the greatest tennis players of all time and yet doesn't quite get the same amount of love as the likes of Nadal and Federer. This book delves into some of the various aspects of how Djokovic has got to where he is today and this reminds the reader of the background of where Novak came from, his humble beginnings and definitely earns a bit more respect from me. I've always appreciated his skill, determination and achievements yet he doesn't give come across as warmly as some of his peers. Maybe he's just super concentrated on the tennis rather than his image. And who can blame him, it's worked on the court.Anyway the book gives a good overall delve into lots of different aspects of Novak, his background, politics, tactics, the business etc. none are in depth so it's all kept fairly high level and interesting. If you want something a bit deeper I guess turn to his autobiography instead but this was a nice level of detail for me.5 stars from me.
