Protect your art.
This is the only way I heal my tattoos and will never go back to any other way. First wrap on for 24-48 hours immediately after tattoo. Remove wrap and wash with antibacterial soap (I use hustle butter brand) and pat dry with paper towels. Wrap again and leave on for 5-6 days. Wash and dry again. Then I use tattoo balm from then on. Its comfortable, keeps the dirt out from my job, sticks on well, and keeps the itch away.

Must-Have for Tattoo Healing – Works Perfectly!
This tattoo second skin is a game-changer for aftercare. It’s easy to apply, stays in place well, and really helps protect the tattoo during those critical first few days. I had minimal scabbing and no irritation — the healing process was smooth and clean. It’s thin enough to be comfortable but strong enough to stay put even during showers. If you want to keep your new ink looking its best, this is definitely worth using. 5 stars all the way!

Great saniderm
My tattoo artist recommended this to me. It works great and you can barely tell you have it on your skin.

Great option for sensitive skin or adhesive allergies. I recommend this to EVERYONE.
If you have sensitive skin or adhesive allergies this one might be for you. I recommend this to EVERYONE. Everyone is different so please be mindful but I am allergic to adhesive and have very sensitive skin and I had a pretty bad reaction to the 2 main brand "second skin" type covers. So when I got a new tattoo from a tattoo artist a little over a year ago and he had this and said that's why he got this one I figured why not. I do find tattoos heal SO MUCH BETTER with this type of stuff vs the classic way. Anyway it worked great! Stayed on great, no reaction, and I couldn't be happier. I've had my role for close to a year now and have gotten a few tattoos since then as well as my bf and we still have plenty. It will last us a long time. So it's a great value for the money in my opinion. A added bonus is it has lines that make it easier to measure and cut! All that to say 12/10 recommend.

A life saver
This was a life saver to cover and protect my tattoo. I had a lot of plasma and blood leak from my tattoo for the first few days after I got it. I called my tattoo artist, he gave me a new dressing, applied the new dressing, and told me to order this stuff. It can be complicated to put on, it’s like a tegaderm. I’m a nurse so it was easy for me, but my husband helped me since my tattoo was on my lower leg. It will be a lot easier if you have someone helps you so you don’t get air bubbles or wrinkles when applying the bandage. The bandage is also waterproof so I could go in the pool and I cleaned every day in the shower. Make sure you let the tattoo air dry before applying a new bandage. I removed and replaced the bandage for 5-7 days and my tattoo healed beautifully. Removing the dressing can be somewhat painful, but it helps if you hold the skin down while pulling it off.

Works as described. Hard to remove!
Great to have around for small or large tattoos. Can be difficult to get off and sometimes pulley up the tattoo. Could be user error, idk.

Better than Tegaderm
I consider Tegaderm the benchmark in assessing transparent, film dressings. It is an excellent brand and probably has the widest popularity and use medical facilities in the United States. It was also the first transparent film dressing to be available over the counter (that I know of) I have tried numerous others, but Derm Shield is the first transparent film that I like better because it is the least visible. I'm not a medical professional who can assess this type of bandage for wounds holding an IVs and such things. I can, however, offer the review from the perspective of a person who use this transparent dressing cover small wounds, over hydrocolloid bandages and to protect fragile skin all over from face to foot. Derm Shield is marketed for a post-inking aftercare to help protect fresh tattoos. I cannot attest to its use in the situation either, so do not know if there any different things one has to consider when putting bandages over fresh ink. But I do know that Tegaderm has long been used for that purpose, so a comparison between the two might be valid. That being true, I would buy Derm Shield in a heartbeat over it or any other transparent film dressing because Derm Shield lasts just as long and the most invisible. I originally wrote this review after comparing for a couple hours but decided to leave the dressings on for a few days, so I could include information about durability in my review. I've taken several pictures that I hope will help others . The Tegaderm I was using was from a 2" wide roll as pictured above. (A much cheaper option than individual "frame style" dressings"). For the first picture I picked an area that is difficult for transparent film dressings to remain invisible: around the mouth where wrinkles and movement are issues. For this comparison I used not only Tegaderm and Derm Shield, but also peice cut from an Opove frame style dressing. The Derm Sheild was a little harder to apply when cutting prices this small. The edges seem harder to get sealed down flat. I'm not sure cutting from a smaller piece would make a difference. However, the Derm Shield film is the least noticable film whether around my mouth, on forearm or over the "tattoos" I drew on my calves. Because the edges were a bit more difficult to get totally flat, I worried the Derm Shield wouldn't last as long. However, after 5 days including two really long showers, the Derm Shield held just as well. The picture of the two films on my forearm shows that both brands had no problem staying on for 5 days. I included pictures of the two films on my calves taken 5 days later as well, but unfortunately I had forgotten about them and scratched my leg so the Derm Shield is peeling up more around the edges than is a fair comparison. However, that happened a couple days ago and I'm surprised it didn't continue to peel off. With many bandages once the edge comes up, it's all over. But the Derm Shield held like a champ. Buying this in the big roll then cutting it makes this a great deal.

Works good, better than most other dermal wraps. The container it comes in is super handy for keeping the wrap organized

I started using second skin on tattoos about 5 years ago. And this is by far the best I’ve tried. Once the artist applied it it didn’t fray at all not even at the edges. When I removed it a few days later it didn’t feel like I was pulling ink out of the tattoo like some second skin. And the tattoo is almost fully healed. Really impressed and will be using this to heal any future tattoos.

Perfect. Easy to apply, good quality and super sticky even after a few days wear. Waterproof so showering is easy, and because it's prevented scabbing and flaking so far, it's made the aftercare so much nicer and easier for my new tattoo compared to when I did the old cling film and moisturiser method for my last ones. You get loads in a roll too so good value for money.

Best second skin I bought so far. Applies easy, stays on and don’t leave any glue behind!

This is BY FAR the best product of its kind. I will never buy anything else for a tattoo. It stays on. It is also nicely matte and actually barely visible, if that is something you care about. Most importantly, it stays on. The superior choice and worth the slightly higher price.
