I have been searching for weeks for a water bottle for my husband to keep ice water on his nightstand. With this bottle I have finally found one that meets his specific criteria. He hates drinking from straws. He doesn’t like drinking from spouts. He just wanted a bottle with a wide mouth that he can uncap and drink from directly. This bottle with its plain screw cap allows him to do exactly that. He also likes that it has a wrist strap for carrying or hanging rather than a small loop on the cap that isn’t good for much but lashing to a backpack. In use, ice water in the bottle stays cold for at least 18 hours. We didn’t try it with hot liquids. For anyone who wants to brew loose tea and pour it into this bottle, the package includes a strainer that fits in the mouth of the bottle. We didn’t test that either. The only feature of the bottle that disappointed my husband was its exterior finish. It is shiny and slick instead of slightly textured as many steel bottles are. To solve that shortcoming, he repurposed a silicone grip band and boot that he had been using with a different bottle. (The bottle is about 3” in diameter, so any grip/boot with that dimension should fit.) Anyone looking for a medium-capacity insulated bottle to drink from directly should be pleased with this item.

The design for this bottle is very stylish, simple shape with a glossy finish in nicely matched colors. The lid seals very well, and the insulation keeps the contents at the temperature – I only used it for cold water, and it held it cold from one day to the next, an ice cube in the water did not melt completely in 18 hours. The bottle size is great for portability.The product page says the filter cap is great for making tea in this bottle, expanded leafs would not pass through. That is not my intended use, though. The large mouth makes this ideal for dropping in a few slices of lemon, even big ones, for lemon water. The filter surely prevents any of the slices or seeds from coming out.The one thing I am not fond of is the permanently attached strap. The bottle exterior is glossy and may get slippery, no doubt about the usefulness of the strap. But when it comes to cleaning, I’d rather have the strap out of the way, no need to wet it, it’s the bottle that needs cleaning. Small inconvenience, still an excellent water bottle with added functions.
