Exact length measurements unknown, but long enough for a 6’ tall man to rig a ‘hasty sling’ with an M1 while shooting offhand. If you intend to use this as a shooting sling, it will be long enough for prone, seated, or offhand use.

Are the j-hooks removable and replaceable with qd swing swivels on these?

Yes, removeable as is clamp buckle. Only sewn in part is web slide/figure eight. Sling is exact copy of original GI slings and can be rigged to whatever you like. will this sling work on a AR-15

Yes it will, Fits M16/AR15, just can't say it in this "touchy" world of correctness in adds. Marines in DC and Old Guard use our Slings on their M14s also. Hooah!

Is this also the correct sling for the M1903-A3?

Period correct ? No. Would it work ? Certainly. I have purchased this sling for my M16A1 clone and I wouldn't hesitate putting one on my M1903. But it's sportin' a 1907 leather right now. Only the snobbiest of range snobs would give you grief about it on a M1903-A3. If they do, just say, "But it still butt strokes across your head very well." and walk away.
