Planet Eclipse has long been known as a market leader in high-end paintball markers and accessories. Our aim has always been set high; to produce the very best paintball equipment possible. Unashamedly, our products to date have always been aimed at the higher-end of the paintball market. They are feature- laden, finished to the very highest standard and immaculately prepared and presented. Entry Level they are not. We understand that not every player has the budget for markers at that level. New or recreational players within the sport may not see the benefit in such fully featured products, but why should those players be precluded from receiving exceptional value and quality? We believe that they shouldn't be. That was our philosophy when we set out to design our latest paintball marker. One that retains the core elements of all Planet Eclipse markers but comes wrapped in a more affordable package, allowing more players to enjoy the Eclipse Ownership Experience The challenge was on and we are proud to share with you... No matter at what price-point you purchase your paintball marker we believe that there are some fundamental features that every customer should demand. Quality. Reliability. Service. At Eclipse we have endeavoured to build these features into every marker we have ever produced. Even though the Etha sits at a less expensive price point not previously occupied by an Eclipse marker, the all-new Etha is no exception.

Pure Awesomness.... (Update) Still Awesome
I decided to completely delete and redo my initial review after actually taking the Planet Eclipse Etha out to the field to run a couple thousand rounds through it. My original opinions may have been a little too influenced by the excitement of receiving a new toy, but after having spent several hours actually using this marker I feel like my insights may be a bit more helpful. For those who haven't seen or held an Etha in person, this is a small marker. The body is made up of a single chamber design which makes its overall profile shorter than some of the other markers within the same price bracket. This actually makes the picture of the marker somewhat misleading because the aluminum housing is relatively short from the bottom of the ASA to the top of the receiver, and those who compare the height of the receiver and bolt with the grip may be confused by the proportions of the marker once they actually hold one. The SL3 regulator is also shorter than some of those found on competing markers which may make the Etha somewhat difficult to hold for those with larger hands. My hands are relatively average sized, and I have long fingers, so it feels fine to me. I'm used to using Tippmans and Spyders, so it actually feels much better than what I'm accustomed to.Other reviewers have commented that the marker fires loudly, or that there is an audible "ping" during rapid fire which I did not personally experience. The stock ported barrell sounded pretty much on par with what I experienced from other players' markers on the field during matches, and I didn't seem to have a louder noise profile than anyone else. The ping may have also been eliminated once PE switched to a springless poppit a few years back, so maybe other users had older models/versions of the Etha.I didn't have much need to experiment with the different modes during regular play, but I shot in capped semi and ramp on the chrono station to try those modes out with live fire. On the field, I used uncapped semi auto, and the Etha was ripping out rounds as fast as my fingers could manage with no trouble. For reference, I was using a Halo Too hopper which actually had a little bit of trouble keeping up with my rate of fire, so make sure you are using something that compliments your play speed if you favor uncapped semi. If you use a less expensive hopper, try using capped modes to prevent missed trigger pulls and always remember to keep the eyes turned on to prevent chops.I did have several barrel breaks throughout the day, but I think this was mostly my fault. I was using cheap paint and attempted to shoot through several breaks without swabbing out the barrel. Once the bolt got dirty, it really needed to be removed from the marker and thoroughly cleaned before it started performing well again. Lesson for the day was, "don't try to self clean" even with an over-bored stock barrel. I do have to say that the shaft 4 barrels are very nice for stock solutions, and I have been considering buying the PE barrel back kit rather than opting for a freak or empire barrel kit. The stock barrel is very light, and mirror polished inside. When it was clean it performed admirably even though my paint could roll through easily. The on/off purge system (OOPS) on the Etha's ASA was also very nice. I found myself de-gassing the marker between matches even if I didn't need to as an extra safety. My old markers all had a physical or digital safety mechanism which the Etha lacks with the stock board, and I took a few noob shots when walking to the dead box because I hadn't powered the marker down all the way. It was embarrasing, but once I started de-gassing, it wasn't a big deal. Plus, you don't really even lose much air when you purge due to the way the solenoid is set up with PE markers. You don't get that big gush of air when you release the pressure like I've seen with some lever action purge systems. There are some negative aspects to this marker though that I wasn't too keen on. One of my biggest gripes is that at one point I had a barrel break which took the marker's eyes out of comission between rounds, and I had to disable them for a short time. This wasn't too bad since the eyes are easily disabled and I could go on playing, but I had to do a little bit of sideline surgery to clear the paint off of the sensors completely. For some reason, I wasn't just able to run my swab through the bolt chamber to clear the obstruction, and the eye covers needed to be removed, and the openings where the eyes sit needed to be cleaned. Maybe the sensors weren't seated properly, but I felt like this should have been easier to resolve having used cheaper markers with eyes that didn't have the same issue.Overall, I still think that the Etha is a very good mid range marker that offers some pretty great features and excellent engineering for the price it is selling for. In fact, I'm already looking to eventually upgrade to some of PE's high end markers once I've gotten plenty of good use out of this one. The only choice will eventually be Ego or Geo? Nonetheless, I can see myself getting plenty of use out of this marker before I think about replacing it.My final piece of advise to those players just upgrading to an all HPA marker like this one is to buy a 68 Cubic Inch 4500 PSI tank right off the bat, and don't bother with anything smaller. Unfortunately, the Etha isn't known for being overly efficient, and I was only getting about 350 to 400 shots from a 48/3000 Empire tank that I bought. I was effectively going in for refills between every game for the entire day, but you live and you learn.Enjoy!

Great marker for the price.
I've been playing for about a year now so I do know a little about paintball. I've used this gun for about 1 month and have played with it collectively about 20 or more hours.I chose the Titan white color and it is beautiful. There are a few very very small places where the color seems faded (before I played at all with it). The shaft 4 barrel is an excellent and pretty accurate barrel to come on such an entry level marker. The feedneck is the best I've ever used and works great. The gun itself is very easy to maintain. The bolt just comes right out the back. It has a turn on off asa which is very nice to have. And it does degas the marker when you turn it off. One bad thing the macroline has given me problems. I often times have to push and pull and twist on the line to get it to seal. And also one of the fittings did not have thread tape on it so I had to fix that to stop a leak. Those are the only problems I've had.The amount of extras that come with it are amazing. You get a hard case, very nice parts kit, very well made barrel sleeve, some lube, and a very detailed manual.I would strongly recommend this gun to a player that wants to move up to electronic markers. It's a product that I honestly feel like it's worth more than the company is charging. If you're thinking about buying one as your first marker or first electronic marker, get it.

This was a great looking market and I loved it initially but it kept chopping 5 Star GI sports paintballs in moderate weather. Even after I installed the spring less poppet, there was no change. I live in Alaska and only play during the Summer, it didn't even last a few weekends before it started chopping paint like crazy. I paired this with a Halo Too and just couldn't figure out what the issue was.Aside from chopping paint for the games I got to use it effectively with it shot ropes up to 75ft with on the money precision I never upgraded the barrel I used the stock barrel and shroud. The case and kit it came in was great, it came with tons of Hex keys, lube, a huge informational booklet and of course Planet Eclipses 5 Star Customer support. I could take the thing apart in under 3 minutes and have it lubed up and ready to go in under ten.I contacted Planet Eclipse they suggested I turn in the gun for another one or send it in so they could look in to the issues to see if it was a noid problem but in the end I returned it and went with a Lux, which has given me zero problems even those they are maintenance queens and love to be babied.

I love it...
I actually ended up getting the ETHA2 shipped. They were out of the ETHA when my order came in. Splat Attack is a class act. I love this gun. I am just an intermediate player, so I don't no much about others. This one is everything I was looking for though. Very reliable, ergonomic, accurate for a paintball marker, handles the elements very well. Just watch Madman/s review in youtube to what all it can take. So, far it's been a great performer.

Great gun with a great price.
Love this gun. So easy to fire and shoots as well as a much more expensive gun. You do not need to spend 800 to 1200 bucks to get a great gun. I hold my own against my friends who have better more expensive guns. I have a HK Army TFX hopper and there are no issues with it. Best 550 spent on this setup of gun and hopper. Shoots as good as a EGO and a AXE for a third the price.

So far so good just got it today and the labels are in place and the gun looks great. I havent had the chance to go shoot it yet but i did pull it apart and clean it there was alot of extra grease. Im guessing its so if they sit up they dont dry out. I advise cleaning the gun before use and regreasing everything. Will update review after this weekend.
